Desensitized is probably not the right word to describe it, but I sometimes experience difficulty orgasming through other means if I've used a vibrator for a long period of time. Other methods can't match the sensation of the vibrator and it feels like it's not enough. It takes some time to get used to other sensations.

Seriously, though, the Hitachi is almost crazy strong in its intensity, and I rarely reach for it. The Jimmy Jane that I is much more subtle, and I doubt it would make me overly sensitized. But I still prefer my fingers when I masturbate.
