I had the impression that Bobby Jindal would stop at nothing, to get supporters.
I thought he might take caution, and not take the chance of alienating the religious crazies.

Bobby Jindal drew the line, when it came to letting the Westboro Church spew on the victims of Lafayette.

Gov. Bobby Jindal issued an executive order instructing police to enforce Louisiana law that protects against disturbing the peace at funerals.

Lafayette residents plan human barrier to Westboro Baptist Church funeral protesters

Jeffrey LaJaunie created a Facebook group to organize a human barrier against the protesters. By Saturday morning, more than 14,000 people indicated -- on Facebook, at least -- they would participate.

Good. It's too bad that some just won't acknowledge that their rights don't extend into the rights of others and that American law is so pussy foot about that.

Everybody hates the WBC except for their own membership. And I mean people of all races, ethnicities, genders and political persuasion. Even people who dislike gays and lesbians hate the WBC more for their actions in disrupting funerals.

When the Westboro Baptist Church restricted their activities to picketing the funerals of homosexual AIDS victims they were accepted by many. When they began to picket military funerals that crossed the line.

Bobby Jindal bravado-

"They come here to Louisiana. They try to disrupt these funerals. We're going to lock them up," said Jindal about the Westboro Baptist Church, during a Sunday morning appearance on "Face The Nation."

Louisiana already has a law on the books to protect loved ones and other funeral goers from such protests. Law enforcement is allowed to keep protesters 300 feet to 500 feet away from any funeral proceedings from two hours before the services start, until two hours after they conclude.

This existing law should be enough to protect the funeral goers. Jindal's executive order is unnecessary, unless he intends to take more steps to shield the funeral goers than what Louisiana law permits, said Marjorie Esman, executive director of the Louisiana's ACLU chapter.
