You have all heard the phrase – One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Never in time has this been more true, or weird. Thanks to the internet people are buying and selling a plethora of goods, all just a click and PayPal payment away from being delivered to your front door, from anywhere in the world.

Gone are the newspaper back-pages and classifieds, replaced by ebaY, craigslist, and many other buy & sell / swap & shop websites and apps. Ease of access, simple processes – just type and upload a pic or two – has made it easy for anyone to sell and purchase goods. Even sex workers (and those that employ, recruit, and/or exploit them) have joined the digital age.

Of course there are scammers, and folks that cross the line with trying to buy / sell organs and body parts/drugs/kids/etc, but these folks came out of the sewers as well, when these transactions happened in back rooms and dark alleys. With smart phones and free WiFi, it was just evolution.

What is amazing , is how some folks, maybe due to the perceived anonymity of the web, have sold and purchased things that, under the light of day and gaze of a parcel delivery driver, would never otherwise buy or sell, even if discretely wrapped in nondescript brown packaging.

Not quite in the same vein but, the oddest thing I think I've ever sold was a child sized carrying basket. It was an antique wicker casket shaped basket. Morticians used to use them to transport bodies. That is where the terms "hell in a hand basket" and "basket case" came from.
