A "dirty bomb" wouldn't level Manhattan. See, a dirty bomb is a small explosive device intended to spread radioactive material that isn't suitable for a nuclear weapon. It MIGHT level one building, if the knew where to put it INSIDE. From the harbor? You're a fucking joke.

Also, Iran would look like the surface of the moon if they admitted selling that nuke. Besides, there are a couple of scenarios that would probably be easier than acquiring a nuke.

Just off the top of my head, it would probably be easier for a terrorist to get his hands on some ebola tainted blood than nuclear material. They could then recruit some dumb American that's down for Jihad, get him to take a vacation to Morocco or Egypt, and then infect him prior to his return home.

Then infected asshole waits in a NYC hotel for symptoms to show. When they do, asshole takes a taxi to Grand Central Station or La Guardia, spits on his hands, and then touches as many door knobs, hand rails, and people that he can.

Asshole recruit would end up being patient zero for the apocalypse. Isis fails to account for the fact that a virus does not give a shit which god you pray to.
