I clicked on a thread, and a link came up in a new window. Shut it down and tried again on a different thread....same thing.
Wouldn't be an issue, except the new windows are all porn sites.

You've probably caught a redirect virus. That's the sort of thing that does that.

I missed the porn site bit earlier, that's definitely some kind of redirect virus. Do you have a buncha stuff on your phone you care about? It's easier just to do a factory settings reset and clear everything than it is to virus protect it.

defense security is only updated with known viruses, anything new isn't solved until the next update and while most takes a simple line adjustment, others are much more in depth.

Post the link that's fucking you up.

Edit: look through the c drive (or whatever) for most recent updates, then narrow that down to files and then find the random named shit.

Malware, virus, they're pretty much synonymous to me. When I get something I don't want on my phone, I wipe the phone, same with the computer. And I'm not too sure that there's a strict difference in the definition between malware and a virus. Typically you install malware, and a virus is self-replicating, yes? We have no way of figuring out if she installed it or if it's self-replicating from what she told us, so no way to know.

For some reason, if you do a search for the forums and go in that way, you get a different url and unstoppable pop ups.

It might come back, this actually does depend on if it's malware of some kind or a virus, a virus will self-replicate and hide copies of itself, and then it'll pick back up later. Malware usually you install and then it can be uninstalled, although sometimes it acts like a virus, and then it's a pain to remove.

Clearing the cache really shouldn't have fixed it though. I'd be cautious with whatever it is you're doing and give it a little bit to see if it comes back and the behavior repeats.

It's why FDISK is the best virus scan ever, that fixes both known and unknown problems, and clears clutter. It's a triple threat.
