I'd like to think most of what is in that particular thread is sick attention getting tactics because a lot of it is underage and the mod is always cleaning it up.

That's an impossible question to answer. There's no way to gauge it and few who would admit (even in a poll) to it. (In a poll, probably more would claim to do it than who actually do.)

Its possible to gauge it because some of it gets reported, and the incident is examined and compared with father/daughter incest, and if it quacks like a duck!

For writing the incest need only be plausible not proven. That is, Ma needs to be a dependent personality, impulsive, social drinker, uninvolved with a man, and chiefly experience the world thru touch. Single parent families is where I'd fish. But I observed women are more receptive to extramarital lovers when their honey is disabled or absent from the home (military). And plenty of physical contact is OK with blood relatives.

I would imagine what gets 'reported' is when its an issue, its unhealthy, they seek help etc....but how many mother/sons are out there in a relationship no one knows about because they keep it quiet and appear to be normal and happy?
