...for a whole 24 hours. I feel like a kid getting his first bike. It's a gorgeous day, too. Suggestions as to what I could do all gratefully received.

Many thanks in advance.

hah!
Do you realise that you've left yourself open for all those Lit trolls? Fingers crossed that Skiddle's not around.
That's why I never start a thread

Thank you for your concern. I suspect I shall probably survive a Skiddles attack, but forewarned is forearmed.

You forgot to offer your own suggestion.

Sleep in.... I would personally debate murdering someone in exchange for 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep

my suggestion would not be the healthiest, I'm afraid.
I usually buy 1-2 six-packs + lots of takeaways and blob out in front of the computer & internet

I like the idea, but long experience has taught me I simply cannot sleep during the day. I wish I could. And I hope you get your uninterrupted sleep soon!

Well, there is a frozen pizza available, but apart from that the house is mostly full of boring healthy stuff.
Short answer: Anything you fucking want!

I used to start it with wine, nudity and it generally got worse (better) from there. Those days are gone...
Gone but not forgotten, eh? Only for now, I'd say. In 4-5 years when yours are both at school you'll be able to pull a sickie now and then, surely?
I'd get drunk and masturbate in every empty room of the house.

I know you would. And it's one reason we all love you. :rose:

Actually, I sometimes like to go to the museum or the university library - just for lunch, not for the culture'n stuff . They tend to be v. international and vibrant on weekends, with people from all over the world & excellent dine-outs around them.

I, too, am home alone this weekend (except for the dog and kitten).

I'm using my time wisely, and can only suggest that you do the same.

Oh, I am wise the rest of the time, madam. Today is a day for great bacchanals.

Grab a bottle of claret and go punting in Cambridge. If you're near Cambridge of course.

If I were near Cambridge, I would do everything in my power to get further away as quickly as possible. Those Fenlanders can sniff out an Oxford man quicker than a ferret up a trouser leg. Punting and claret sounds fun, though.

PMann, I'm disappointed you didn't create the site. Fappity fap fap fap.

The Farmer's market has been good to me. Among many treasures of cherries, apricots, cheese and samosas, a little old lady was selling her home-made greengage and toasted almond jam.

It was all I could do not to buy out her whole stock. Of three.

Waste it. Rubbish diem. Don't do a damned thing. You might have a moment or two of regret afterwards (I shoulda/coulda/woulda), but it will feel so good. And wine of course.

To waste time is the greatest luxury of all, as someone once said. You raise an important point. And lo! Here I am.

It is too hot for wine at the moment. This is definitely beer weather, at least by English standards.

Definitely a lo point, being here. ;)

Ah yes, I heard. Going over 25° today on the Royal Plains of Meath, I suppose much the same in your neck of the woods. Beer it is then. Or maybe Pimm's No 1. Did you get any cucumber at the market?

Here is the best place I know of to waste time. It has, delightfully, no redeeming features whatsoever.

I always have cucumber in case of Hendrick's. But I am a bit Pimm'sed out at the moment - we've got through three bottles in a week. It would just be nice if the neighbours, from whom we are separated by a thin wall and a low garden gate, would go on a long walk or something. I've had to put off my Flemish whores twice already.

That looks amazing! But, if there were something like that within a hundred miles on a hot Saturday like today, it would have ten thousand screaming children in it. And I am just getting used to the delicious silence.

I shall content myself with sliding down the contoured descent of my hopes.

Plural? Perhaps send one across to the neighbours' for some distraction.

Fixed your post.

Read a book under the shade of tree with a lunch packed for when you get hungry. If there is some wind, fly a kite. Or go for a bike ride. Those are things I do, when I can.
