:mad:some B*tch on amazon is plagiarizing lit authors again. i found at least 2 stories by authors from this site. I've already contacted the authors of the two stories i recognized. if any member is willing please check out the authors' other works to see if you recognize any other story and contact the original author to let them know.

these are just the two that i know.

If you recognize any works please contact the original author and could you please post the original title and author here in this post along with the new title this B*tch has given it. It seems all they did was change the title.

Good spotting, Ladyshy!
It seems to be mostly lesbian and gay erotica, so if you're writing that genre you may want to take a look at the link. This woman has a lot of ebooks that were all published within a few months...so perhaps they're all stolen from Literotica?

Just started going through the list, will update as I go along. All authors are being messaged through the feedback system.

My Lesbian Slave: A RAUNCHY EROTIC NOVEL is Silkstockinglover's Becoming a Lesbian Slave

My Love, Our Miracle: An Erotic Lesbian Romance Novel is HLD's McKayla's Miracle: Chp 1

I love you too: An Erotic Lesbian Novel is Alex the Cat's Misgivings

You Keep Me Warm: An Erotic Lesbian Novel is SweetestThing's Summer Song

God damnit.

Does anyone know if there are any ways of getting this taken down while remaining anonymous?

And the worst thing, the WORST, is how badly written her author's biography is.

Fuck whoever this is. Fuck them right in their stupid ears. I worked hard on those stories and I like sharing them with people for free. This makes me feel worse about doing that and for what? For the piddly sales my nonsense would bring you?

This person is a scumbag. If I could, I would kick them right in the face.

I'll contact Amazon and tell them the stories are stolen. I've heard they don't do a lot, and even if they take the author down, they often come back under another name. But I don't care if they know my name. I'll even post a review that they are ripped off, if you want.

That would be much appreciated, thank you.

Sure thing, no problem. I know it won't do much good, but it's the principle of the thing, and if it makes people hesitate to buy "her" stories at all, then good. :)

FWIW, there is a sticky post by Manu at the top of this page: Amazon Ebook Copyright Complaints & How To Fight Stolen Ebooks.

When someone favors my story, I look to see who else they favored and am surprised to see nearly a complete listing of many of my stories. Seeing a long list of my stories on someone's favorite list makes me wonder.

Do they just return to read these stories over and again or are they saving these stories for their own personal use by copying them, pasting them, and rewriting them? I don't know. I have no way of knowing.

Yet, over the years, I've seen dozens of my complete stories transcribed and translated in 12 different languages and published all over the world. Unless I had Philadelphia lawyer on retainer, there's little that I can do.

With my popcorn in hand, I'm waiting for one of these thieves to make a movie with my story. Then, while they're on stage accepting the Oscar for the best screenplay adaptation of a story, I'll have them hit with a subpoena for my lawsuit.

Only, now with my popcorn stale, my reality is that these people get away with it. I imagine they're making a decent living by stealing dozens of stories from dozens of writers to publish them as e-Books.

Good luck to them. I could never steal someone else's work.

I heard Amazon doesn't heed plagiarism complaints that aren't from the authors themselves.

Result?!?

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I did make a complaint to Amazon through their online form and I got a reply today saying that all three stories are being taken down. So...yay? I mean, ideally they'd have said the stories were being taken down, the author banned and the money people paid to this Fraud reclaimed and donated to local animal shelters but...well, I'll take 1/3 for now.

Hey, that's great! These thieves will do it again, but anything you can do to mess things up for them is good. I got an email from Amazon letting me know that someone rated my "review" -- which was pretty much "shame on you, you talentless hack, you stole someone's story from a free site!" LOL -- was "helpful" to them. :D

So I just browsed through this joker's catalog of offerings. Most of the titles are like... titles you would never use for anything remotely publication-worthy (even erotica). Like the one line musings of a horny pre-teen.

But credit where it's due, she has a degree in creative writing (from Harvard no less). That's nothing to scoff at. :p

If only Harvard had a Get Your Titles Non-Porny 101 somewhere....

Maybe she bought the degree from those people that spam here selling fake diplomas and passports.

As for the horrible porn titles? Do not buy amazon's claim they care about content and have a modicum of class, they do not nor do the kindle customers, as I have said before, find the top selling erotica books (by indy authors) and you will find mostly the most hard core make Larry Flynt blush total pornography, most of which violates their content rules, but oh look there it is.

And here? Look at the current number one author on lit(by far and away) and breeze through her titles..."what fucks mommy in the ass..."

Fact is people may use 'erotica" to make them feel like they are 'writers' but porn is the content and porn is what sells.

Personally I roll my eyes at those titles, would never buy one, would never read one for free here and I know others agree, but we do not seem to be the majority.

Many e-books are very short, not much more than scenes and they are pure one handed reads.

The author's titles are not my style, but I wouldn't say they are wrong for doing it.

But they are wrong for being a stealing scumbag.

And amazon could stop it before it starts they have a program to search the web and see this story was posted on lit, they choose not to screen anything and they certainly don't mind making money off of these books because when the author is reported...they keep the money.

So they let it go until it gets reported and even then they let them hang around awhile(like Ron Mexico) and let's face it they only eventually do something because they don't want someone running to the media saying the truth...

That amazon has no issue with piracy as long as they can profit.

Well the author profile and books are all gone now.

Had a random thought, at least in this instance the thief put the stories on Kindle Unlimited. If we report the stories as available elsewhere for free Amazon usually will at least yank the stories down out of breach of contract for not being exclusive to KU. -shrugs- at the least it gets the works removed

Let's hope more of them are stupid enough to go KU. A single report pointing to a few stories posted on Lit should get the whole catalog wiped out under those conditions. Word is that Amazon is diligent and draconian about enforcing that.
