Well I posted ads before and they didn't work out. So now that I was able to add an avatar let's see what happens.

An ad doesn't hurt you but it does not really help much. Imagine you walked into a bar with a clever T-shirt that told the ladies you were available and listed some of your fine attributes. You would still find that their attention would be drawn to the guy making them laugh.

Keep that ad, so that if someone finds you intriguing elsewhere on the site, they can look to see what you are looking for... but in the meanwhile work on being interesting in general. That means go on and participate in threads. Comment as you see fit. Don't be a dick, but don't over think or censor yourself. Since you have to be you sooner or later with anyone you meet, give your honest opinions about things, jump into threads that are about your interests and kinks. That is the best way to screen for women that happen to like the version of man you happen to be.

The avatar adds a bit of personality. It can be beneficial if it shows something that's interesting. The dance with women on forums like this is so interesting because 1. there are no inhibitions because you're behind a screen and 2. people can project personas that they are not.

For guys especially, it's a balance of genuineness with sexy. Not too overbearing but not too shy either.

There are going to be times where you will not get any responses and then they're are times where it seems like you will get non-stop responses. It's unlike any other platform of social media (if this is considered social media, which I would assume it is)

I've been a member of the site for three years in august and this place seems to be more friendly. It doesn't have issues of members bad mouthing each other. Also it it's nothing like FB.

Not sure it's the avatar that makes a difference, although it can help make you more recognizable. What really does it? The hundred posts you make to GET the avatar. Anyone who responds to an ad is going to check you out first. The best way is to see what you're posting and where. Good luck!
