I'm not a fan of conspiracy theories. I realize since I'm not black it's a lot easier for me to not be worried about a disease that seems to have possibly targeted blacks. I don't know that much about genetics but there is most likely a way that this disease could have been engineered if it were engineered to only affect blacks.

As I say, I think most conspiracy theories are just that: theories. But one theory about the government hurting the black community that has at least an element of truth and some portions of it is true is the idea that the government helped to import drugs and those drugs in turn hurt the black community. First from the direct effects of addiction and then secondly the effects of the war on drugs and how it took black fathers out of the homes and put them in prison.

But to the original point... Why do black people get AIDS more than others? It tends to be just as others said, a result poverty and lack of education. Why do South Africa, Botswana and Swaziland have HIV rates of up to 25%? Is it because their skin is black? No. It's because they are poor and uneducated.

A dear friend of mine did some missions work over in Southern Africa, Botswana, I believe. He was telling me that the people there believed, and were told, that HIV is a result of their poverty. They didn't actually know that it was spread through sexual contact.

So black people are more susceptible to HIV not because the virus likes dark meat more, but because of sexual practices. It's like saying bullets are attracted to young black males more than others. This is not the case. Again it's an instance of causation versus correlation.

First of all the problems re. drugs, the black community, etc. are far too synergistic to be reduced to a couple of simplistic causes. And as we have found over the years, addressing one of the perceived causes only seems to exacerbate problems in different, and in many cases seemingly unrelated, areas.

The dissolution of the black family came about as a result of the government making it profitable to supplement welfare by having a bunch of kids out of wedlock. The wholesale incarceration of those dealing the drugs came later. You are correct only in the observation that this all came about as a result of government action. Action, by the way, that was well intended giving rise to the adage, "No good deed goes unpunished."

As far as AIDS being manufactured..............bull shit! Just another urban myth invented so that a group, in this case blacks, can perpetuate victim hood status.

This link, CDC AIDS facts, provides an overview of AIDS infections in the US. What is NOT said in the overview is that the populations most disproportionately affected are also the least educated.

Geography might also play a role.
It started in Africa, it's going to spread more in Africa.
I also suspect that at the time there was also more traffic between Africa to the US (businesses, green cards etc.)
Had it started in KurdishorBrittishstan, it would have spread through those continents

What is KurdishorBrittishstan?

ETA - it also doesn't help that there is a prevalent myth in illiterate and poorly educated Southern African areas (not just SA but Zimbabwe, Botswana, etc) that the only way to cure AIDS is to have sex with a virgin. So there are appalling rates of child/adolescent rape by infected males.

If an epidemiologist wanted to create a myth specifically designed to spread a sexually transmitted disease as quickly as possible, they couldn't have come up with anything better than that.

I don't see the reason behind the so called less educated being more prone to aids. Nope, don't see it. Unprotected sex goes on anywhere, not just in the ghetto. But the ghetto has the higher rates? It's a reason for that. If the shoe was on the other foot, and aids was destroying rich white neighborhoods like they are destroying the poor black ones, the government would of been stopped it. You could give hundreds of millions to other countries, but can't spend that money on finding a free cure? Let someone that is important get affected by aids, I bet you they won't be affected for long.
