Always wondered why people lived in Cleveland.....

I kind of like Pittsburgh. I lived there for about 6 yrs. Someday I want to go back, I miss the Laurel mountains.

The burning Cuyahoga keeps you warm in the winter.

I actually saw it burn! We were on a field trip to the history museum and the bus driver asked if we wanted to go see it, and we did, it was unreal. I also touched a mummy by accident that day! It was a banner day :D

Notice it didn't mention Chicago, Boston, New York, LA

Or San Fran/The Bay area. Got 108 acres and a 2400 square foot house here for what a little townhouse would have cost us down that way!

Yep. Fresno, however, is not so bad...

Do what all the old hippie carpetbaggers I met in the last few years do.

Retire at a high wage in California (that's where most of em that I've met come from), then move to a state/city with a low cost of living.

I noticed. But I quoted the average UK price at £272,000 not the prices in London or South East England. The London AVERAGE price is £514,000.

In the recent election, the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats were suggesting a 'mansion' tax for expensive homes. The Scottish National Party thought it might be a good idea to tax London and SE England homes to provide money for Scotland.

What is a 'mansion'? In some desirable parts of London, the price of a normal three-bedroom family house is close to or over one million pounds.

Quite, Ogg. I have friends in their thirties - professionals doing well, but by no means 'rich' who, simply by having bought in the right part of London at the right time, could afford to sell up, buy a family home with land outside the South East for cash and, if not quite retire, at least live for ten years very happily without worrying about the bills. And other friends of the same age, as well qualified and in some cases as successful, who are still renting and see no prospect of ever buying.

Financial security in England now is almost entirely a question of property. Nothing else comes close.

You all would shit if you knew what my house payment was. It's lower than Cleveland's.

GOOOOO BUCKS!!!!!!!
