"Mr. Santorum, who held up a lump of coal to illustrate his connection to a grandfather who was a miner in Pennsylvania, also emphasized his 12 years in the Senate, and he warned “about the gathering storm of radical Islam.”

He boasted that he was recently declared an enemy in the English-language magazine of the Islamic State. “They know who I am, and I know who they are,” he said.

At times, his unwillingness to emphasize the issues that worked for him in 2012 — opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage — and his decision to criticize his own party for being obsessed with cutting taxes for the rich have made him seem the boldest candidate in the race."

From his website-

[Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) said Saturday the military should damage the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to the point of impotence.

“If these folks want to return to a 7th Century version of Islam, then let’s load up our bombers and bomb them back to the 7th Century,” he argued during the South Carolina Freedom Summit in Greenville, S.C.

( DISCLAIMER- I am no fan of Rick Santorum, having had him as a senator in the past. I am on record here as describing him as " a couple of Knights Templar short of a Crusade." )

In any event, as an announced presidential candidate, it's time he had his own thread.

eh...he might be the boldest to dare speak against teh GOP, but he's still a religious loon. And if I had to bet I'd put money on hm being one with a srsbznz boner for firing up some crusades full force in Iraq again.

Money, money, money!

One supporter present was Foster Friess, a wealthy investor whose multimillion-dollar donations in 2012 helped Mr. Santorum remain in the race long after he might have quit.

Mr. Friess, in a black cowboy hat, said he would support Mr. Santorum again, but not through a “super PAC,” which reports donors.

“The money I give will be hard to track,” said Mr. Friess, adding that he had spent $26,000 for a private jet to the rally.

I would not call him a religious loon for speaking against the rape and murder and enslavement and destruction being perpetrated by ISIS. I would expect anybody in their right mind to oppose that.

That's not to say I would ever vote for him. :(

You need to do some homework on the guy. He LOST the election last time because so much religious crazy speak, unless you didn't pay attention. He won't even address the subjects now because he knows that's a fuckin' black dot in his palm.

Snopes said yes, CEO of Urban Outfitters did donate money to that obscene pile of fluid named Santorum.

Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN, and Terrain are also part of the mountain of cash registers that pour money into the pile of grotesque semi- liquid known as Santorum.

This CEO is not likely to change his position, or who he contributes money to.
He is a hater, and he is likely to agree with all the Right Wing Extremist haters.
He will be more secretive and quiet about it.

3. On birth control and having sex for pleasure, 2011: "One of the things I will talk about that no president has talked about before is I think the dangers of contraception in this country, the whole sexual libertine idea. Many in the Christian faith have said, ‘Well, that's OK. Contraception's OK.'

It's not OK because it's a license to do things in the sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be. They're supposed to be within marriage, they are supposed to be for purposes that are, yes, conjugal, but. . .also procreative. That's the perfect way that a sexual union should happen. We take any part of that out, we diminish the act. And if you can take one part out that's not for purposes of procreation, that's not one of the reasons, then you diminish this very special bond between men and women, so why can't you take other parts of that out? And all of a sudden, it becomes deconstructed to the point where it's simply pleasure. . .This is special, and it needs to be seen as special."

That's an example of old school Catholicism, plain and simple! I heard that bullshit as a teen during Confirmation classes and most of us laughed at it.

Simple is an operative word when discussing Santorum.

From Wikipedia-

He says the war on terror can be won and is optimistic about U.S. involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan in the long term. Santorum has defended the treatment of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, specifically defended waterboarding and stated that John McCain, who opposes the practice, "doesn't understand how enhanced interrogation works."[70][71][72][73] Santorum called the War in Afghanistan "a very winnable operation" in 2012, dismissing efforts for withdrawal by 2014. He similarly criticized President Obama's foreign policy, saying he was "not focused on trying to win the war" in Afghanistan,[74] and said he was against any withdrawal in Iraq in 2012, saying, "We want victory."[75]

McCain would have been justified in giving him a demonstration.

Considering he's repeatedly thrown the Constitution under the bus, it's not surprising.

This is the guy who thinks you don't have a right to privacy, a right to do what you want with your body, who thinks certain books should be outright banned, thinks Christianity is (not should be) the nation's religion, and the list goes on.

This is also the same guy who rails against government spending yet had no problem taking government money to pay for his kids education at a private school.

He embodies everything that is wrong with the Republican party today.

Yeah. Didn't you just love it when he campaigned against Harris Wofford for being out of touch for moving to Washington, pledged to commute to Congress, and then wound up moving there himself?

I nominate Rick for pivot man in the great Republican circle jerk of the Primaries!

More talk of banning porn and bringing God back into the country as we are all over run by Satan.

Time for some veiled women should be bare foot and pregnant housewife talk as well.
