Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The finale was outstanding! This sounds crazy but it feels like Joss might be informing the show more since he's been clear of Avengers. But regardless....a compelling showing, with suspense and fights that matter. The longer format suited the show really well. With extra time we get to see stuff like Skye and May fighting with that chick with the bangin' ass that could multiply. I love grit and determination in the face of impossible odds in my heroes. Like Mac...he came back and was wonderfully singular of purpose, "These crystals? Them shits is mine."

oh and....Gorilla Testosterone.

I dunno about the extra Joss involvement...last I read, he was making passive-aggro remarks on the show having made it difficult for him making Ultron because of fan-fave Coulson returning from the dead twisting up plot vectors along with S.H.I.E.L.D. as a television property having too much influence on the movie side of the MCU.

Might just be sour griping due to hype overload and exhaustion. I'm glad it's All Connected. The season kicked ass and the two-hour ep was super Whedon-y, especially the cliffhanger at the end.

huh....the spin I heard on it was Joss had friction with the MCU movie people since he created the show that does kinda grind against the movie continuity....but only barely IMO. It's not so hard for the two to be coexisting, it's a big world. At some point down the road maybe when civil war tensions are highest there will be a very heartfelt and timely reunion of Coulson with the team, perhaps he can bring them together one more time. Or if it's not in the cards....it's all the more reason Coulson and his team should go rogue. Fuck SHIELD in its stupid ass.

I wonder what Joss's vanity project will be? Coming off of two movies that will be in the top grossing movies of all time he'll be able to get anything made.

Those are odd, they aren't even that funny. I wonder if there is some Korean legend or major person who famously said something that roughly translates as "I'm going."

I want the leader of the Kree (I don't remember if that guy even had a name) to be about to call the Nova Corps and have one of his generals walk in.

General: You're warning the Nova Corps?!

Leader: If Thanos were invading Hell I'd put in a warning to Mephisto.

Season 2 of Agents is alledgedly hitting Netflix in June so if you know someone who wants to get on board now would be the time. I know I for one have a hard time convincing people to get into shows especially ones where watching the previous seasons is either helpful or required reading. And Netflix usually isn't much help since they don't tend to get the last season until a week after the new one starts. Or they give you a week or two and see if you can sprint that shit like a champ.

If it's Daredevil yes I can. I think I watched that in 2.5 sittings. How do you do half a sitting you ask? I paused on like episode 11 to go do some shopping, cook, eat, check my email, lit, facebook and blog and was back and finished out like a champ!

S1 should be watched in order to properly appreciate S2. Especially because the second half of S1 redeems the slow roll out of the first half (which is still entertaining enough, fuck all the whiners who wanted or expected Avengers 1.5 every week right out the gate.) ;)

Dear god stretch the screen some more.

I agree, but I more meant S3 will come in the fall and now they can actually watch S1 and S2 without having to just spend two full days with an IV drip and a catheder to catch up.

I must have missed him. Is he the guy who challenged Cap to fight without his shield? Also I hate that on a top secret vital mission Cap still indulges people. One day some clever bastard like me is gonna be. "I thought you were more than a shield." Cap drops shield. "I also thought you were a moron. " Drops to the deck while minions with machine guns kill cap.

No, that was Batroc The Leaper.

Brock Rumlow (played by Frank Grillo) was the embedded Hydra agent who will become Crossbones after being hauled out of the Triskelion wreckage on the stretcher (and geting summarily patched up.)

For all those who missed out on S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 or want to revisit it at your own pace, all episodes are streaming on Netflix now.

and the new Avengers-themed Ant-Man posters are highly dope:

A new Ant-Man TV spot also references Avengers, so there shouldn't be any lingering doubt for the true believers on the MCU's commitment to being all connected. ;)

Those posters are indeed dope.

As for what Wheaton could do after The Avengers, I would like to see him tackle a giant monster movie, but that could be just me, because I am a major kaiju fan.

There were doubts on it all being connected? I thought the only real confusion was over the official status of the X-Men given that Quicksilver is floating around both the X-Men and Avengers universes. Spiderman is apparently allowed to come out and play with the other kids now. Though that's probably because Amazing Spiderman 2 was crap. And whoever has the Fantastic Four is basically pushing out movie just to cockblock Marvel/Disney since their contract states they have to use the franchise if they want to keep it. Which is why Blade, Ghost Rider, Daredevil and other assorted characters got to come home. Speaking of which is there any official word on Electra? I think her movie was enough later that they still have sometime but who wants to bother?

I think even money is running on Elektra being in Daredevil S2 somehow, possibly as a surprise. After all, it was never confirmed that she wasn't going to be involved somehow...and now that the show is a definite hit with other MCU characters getting in the mix...

I think 20th Century Fox has the Fantastic Four. They been talking about a crossover movie with the X-Men.

First is Whedon. Joss Whedon and I would cry if he wasted his time on a giant monster film. Mostly because one of two things would happen. He'd either make a standard monster flick that anybody but the bastards who did Godzilla '98 could do. Seriously kaiju films basically write themselves. Hello, I'm a big monster who arrived from space/the center of the Earth/Radiation. If you do a period piece like King Kong I was on an island nobody had bothered to visit before. I'm here to stomp your shit so get ready. Or he'd do what he does best and bother with the humans and I love Joss but he basically puts out similar stuff when it comes to the dialogue. And that Buffyesque crap flies with Buffy, and the Avengers and most of the time with AoS. Though I'll be the first person to call out that Nick Fury and Coulson wise cracking at the end of season 1 was bullshit. Spiderman can get away with that not only because it's part of his strategy but also because he's superhuman and is generaly on par or more powerful than his opponent. Coulson and Fury were terribly out matched to the point that the only appropriate response would have been. "Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck."

And I'm a huge kaiju fan, I think I've seen the vast majority of them including the obscure crap that I can't even remember the names of. And shit I wish I could forget. King Kong Escapes I think is the title. The Japanese build a mechanical King Kong to like mine or some shit. The kind of crazy crap where you look at it and go. . .hmmmm if you wanted to mine there are easier ways but. . .why are you even fighting Kong? You could have skipped steps 1-3 that put you into conflict and gone straght to step 4 and the world would have thanked you. Or King Kong vs Godzilla which has three different versions and was originally Godzilla vs Frankenstien. Which despite the size issues at least explains why King Kong has lightning powers in that flick.

Honestly I just want Pacific Rim v Godzilla.

That could be true, it just depends on the contract. I'm hoping that Blade gets a show. Though apparently the guys at Disney don't think he's got enough story to carry a show despite an outstanding Anime with him. Granted Wolverine shows up once but of the four shows only the X-Men managed to avoid cross overs. And trust me there is something special when Ironman is getting his ass kicked and the Wolverine theme song starts and he saves the day. It's like watching pro wrestling and someones getting beat down and then Stone Cold's theme plays and everybody's like "Wait. . .Austin?!" And he runs into the ring and opens an epic can of whoop ass.

Honestly a Blade TV show would almost write it's damn self. Take the first or third movie and stretch them over ten or twelve episodes. Honestly and this is from someone who's read the comic that Blade: Trinity was based on, the problem wasn't the material. It was equal parts terrible casting and trying to cram way too much into a movie. Trinity is basically the train wreck the Avengers would have been if they skipped Ironman, Thor and Captain America's movies and tried to skip straight to the team up but still trying to introduce everybody. Only worse because at least the Marvel characters as a whole are part of American culture. I think Black Widow and Hawkeye are the only two that you couldn't (prior to the movies) walk up to a random person on the streets and expect them to know who the fuck that is. It's like the Justice League. The only ones (of the main five) that need an introduction are Martian Manhunter and the Green Lantern.
