Straight Women Hog the Sexual Assault Spotlight
"That's according to a Daily Emerald story from the University of Oregon, where last month's Take Back the Night event featured sexual-violence estimates of non-straight communities that make the unreliable 1-in-5 statistic look quaint." Anyway, the point is that the lesbian women on campus are upset at the straight women claiming they're assaulted because that that means that the lesbian victims are being marginalized and not really cared about...
... "According to the 2010 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, 44% of lesbian women and 61% of bisexual women have been victims of intimate partner violence in the form of rape, physical violence and/or stalking, compared to 35% of heterosexual women."
The problem is that the lesbian and bisexual women claim to be much bigger victims, and nobody talks about what happens to them, because the heterosexual women are hogging all of the limelight [and] attention. Whenever a heterosexual woman is abused, raped, assaulted, that gets all the news, and nobody ever hears about what's happening to the intimate partners of lesbian and bisexual women on campus. It's a big problem...

This is really fascinating because the main reason sexual assault, rape, etc, has become such a big issue to the media, politicians, and liberal establishment, is because its meant to show how evil and rotten men are, particularly heterosexual men, and to promote fear and distrust toward men among straight women so they will be less likely to marry a man or form a heterosexual family unit. The politicization of rape is ALL about femanism.
Its all about pitting straight women and men against each other, sowing distrust, and dividing the sexes. By that I mean the overpublicity and overpoliticization in recent decades. Its proof of women as victims of men and men as victimizers of women, even though the overwhelming majority of men never sexually assault anyone and the majority of women are never sexually assaulted by a man.
For lesbian activists to now come along and claim to be left out of all the hoopla, completely misses the point of why the hoopla exists in the first place. It will be curious to see if someone takes these lesbian activists aside and tells them to drop it, they need to get with the program. A battle between lesbians and heterosexual femanists over this is the last thing the liberal establishment would want as it shows that straight men aren't the monsters the media portrays them to be.
