I'm something of a Johhnycomelately to this game but I would imagine there would be a few of us who dabble in a bit of MMO.

not looking to hook up necessarily, more curious to see how much overlap there is between two of my favourite online pursuits.

Games! What is eso? On break from warcraft but going to start playing (getting carried) league with some friends again.

Sorry...

I've been out of the house this morning, sorry for the non-respond.

Yeah, ESO is the Elder Scrolls MMO - my current "happy place".

Well...

That's MMO for you.
Only problem is that my kids have taken over the account, so I'm not getting my Tamriel time any more.

I have a dog and never have that problem :) but that never stopped her from having to go out during raid, sigh.

It's

A hard life...

However, the ability to disappear into another world for a while, whether through a novel, a game or intimate play with new acquaintances, gives it a warm and soft edge.

Mmo's do have a huge social impact. I am still friends with people from wow even though I don't play right now. It's nice when you connect with people and can bring them from virtual life to rl.

Escape is fun, but it's pretty easy to spot people who play to get away from life and people who play because they love to play.

The MMOs I use to play were of course, World of Warcraft and The Old Republic. But I found the stories were frequently anaemic compared to the solitary offerings hence I don't play them anymore.

That all being said I'm playing Black Flag right now. Not because of the story or being a fan of assassins creed. No. I'm playing because I like my boat. It's big and pretty with big fancy guns (yes Freud). Also the weather in the game is infinitely more pleasant than what's currently going on outside my window.
