That area of the country no one was doing hair and makeup TFP. I had priced it but we were way out in the boonies and I was shooting all weekend therefore it was cost prohibitive. It was quite the weekend though let me tell you. Got a lot of great shots in general from the cabin shoot as I call it.

Yeah I do or at least used to do photography on the side, mostly weddings and family portrait stuff. Trained up on boudior photography but boy was it tough being a guy, most ladies wanted a female photographer. If another woman was there though they were okay, sadly those shoots were few.

On your topic of light, have you ever thought of really going dark, pitch black background, just highlighting belly and boobs with only a hint of other parts, it is an idea I toyed with when wife was pregnant but could never get the right ammount of ambient light...nightmare but a fun project.

That idea would be a great picture.... If you could get a decently dark back ground and aim light carefully.... Spill over lighting might be able to be handled in post processing

Boo Photoshop, burn the heathen!!!!

Background is not a problem, black velvet eats light nicely so remains black throughout. The spill light issue I had was on forearms, hips, chin...cropping and centering did not give me the look I wanted...I wanted the body shape to be just seen, to be hinted at other than belly and breasts which would stand out.

Used to have a bunch on here but alas they seem to disappear after a long while. I, however, will try to get more from this set up.
 
So much pretty in this thread today! And you photographer types are making me sad I didn't do boudoir style pics with my pregnancies ;)
