Having frequently come into contact with issues Israel, I've found that suggesting that Israel "must" do anything it doesn't want to do is a waste of suggest.

Ain't that about the truth. Hell it tends to be a waste of time to ask them politely to do something that is mostly in their interest.

I've gone to Israel on a diplomatic passport to consult with one of their services at their request--and still was hassled at the Tel Aviv airport--by a different one of their services. The last time they asked to consult, I told them to come to where I was or forget it.
