How extreme do weather events have to become, in order to prompt Climate Change deniers into admitting that something has gone terribly wrong ?

Trysail will be along shortly with one of her purdy nonsensical graphs "proving" a 30 degree or so increase in temperature is no biggie.

As I live in East Texas I doubt I would know he difference!

Nothing is wrong.....because coal/oil.

Did you get that awesome 45 minute hailstorm last weekend?

That was truly impressive.

LOL I'm so glad I don't have to go park the G' ride under a bridge every time a nasty storm pops up b/c the garage only slows them down after they get baseball sized. But I do miss watching some srs bznz storms roll in like they do in the central plains....it's impressive.

Got a little dab yes.

In my long life here I been in some impressive freaking weather.

Hail, ball lightening, snow, Ice storms, tornados, hurricanes, ball roasting temperatures & humidity, random small fish, amphibians & insects falling from the sky.

Grass hopper invasion, straight line winds that tore lots of shit up...and on & on.

Just when I think it's worse then ever I find out that the record was many years ago.

We had a steady deluge of pea-sized hail that bounced off the deck out back....a few quarter sized nuggets of ice mixed in. I had just remarked how it was bad but not tooooo bad when a single ice missile the size and shape of a tennis ball hit the deck and exploded into two dozen pieces.

THAT was truly impressive.

when it's hot or more windy than usual "it's climate change, told you so"

when it's cold "that's the weather dick, climate and weather aren't the same thing"

when the corporations and politicians who peddle this stuff take a hit rather than use it to make a profit, I'll believe it.....they won't.

What dingleberry is telling you that crap?

Do the tiniest amount of research if you can spare the time.

I have done plenty enough to know the jury remains well and truly out. Sadly behind every story there is an agenda and a background to it.

I don't particularly believe or disbelieve climate change being caused by humans (and certainly think there are things we should do to improve the world around us), I just don't believe in exploiting people.

Ignorance.
Willful ignorance.
On a scale of one-to-queerbait, about an 8.

ignorance of what? that global warming was dreamed up by the CFR about 20 years before anyone had any science on it whatsoever?

I believe 100% in greener alternatives and reducing carbon because it makes for a better nicer and more sustainable atmosphere and if the climate change theory is real well we've killed two birds so to speak. but you tell me how serious it can when the second someone comes up with an idea to help improve it's sold to the highest bidder...? jeez you can't even get solar panels where I live without signing a contract to basically hand the management over to a corporation. they don't give a ratzass about CC and neither does that a-hole Al Gore.

ps your scales are wank. cheers.

You seem to think because people are making money on it and politicians speak about it because the people making money paid them to....means it's not happening.

Sorry champ...that's just not how it works. Humans have drastically impacted the environment in a lot of ways from over fishing the ocean (which has ecological consequences far beyond lack of food) to poisoning our water/air supplies as fast as we possibly can. We are fucking shit up and quickly approaching the limit at which 'mother nature' is about to start pushing back in a lot of noticeable ways. Profiteering or not this life raft has about 6 billion to many assholes on it because we learned to beat nature at a lot of things. But nature ain't all out of tricks and if we get complacent now it's gonna be a smack down.

The next great challenge is not disease, travel or communications....it's how do we clean our shit up and better manage our resources.

I wish we could just pack 6 billion assholes up and send them to new un-inhabited planets....M class of course

I really don't dude, I just don't necessarily agree with how we go about fixing it. Plus the only way to convince people to participate is to take away the profiteering and exploitation at their expense.

For example I never hear many of the super right on politicians who use climate change as a reason to further control people mention the vast destruction caused by nuclear. No, that's all so necessary despite the fact that it's lethal.

PS there are many people living in very sustainable ways across the planet, but we (the west, driven by war, money and power-crazed 'leaders') have slowly killed them off either physically or by deriding their very existence.

There's really such thing?! I always heard it was an unproven theory.

Lots of things are to some people. Seeing it bounce and roll around the yard before it goes poof! is a little strange.

I've only seen it twice.

On the other hand I have never looked upon St. Elmo's fire.

Reminds me when people in my area were whining about how cold it was which "proved" climate change wasn't real, but completely ignored the people in Colorado (and places out there) who had temperatures near or above 70 back in February.

Apparently when it's cold, in winter, that means climate change isn't real, but when it's almost hot, in winter, that also means climate change isn't real.

actually what your rebuttal proves is that the weather patterns, wind, ocean currents, temperatures are actually changing and moving causing unstable and unusual weather patterns caused by....get this.....CLIMATE WARMING.
I know, it is hard to think that maybe an unusually cold spell in a normally warm area could be caused by global warming but here is something for you. Put a pot of cold tomato soup on the stove in a pot and then turn on the element for"heating" see how the soup starts to move when it gets hot? Those are currents distributing 'heat" to other parts of the pot. Can you see how those corner cold areas now become hot? Well on a global scale the heat currents displace, move over and push other temperatures to area where they normally would not be found.
Next I will explain to you why toilets flush in one direction in the northern hemisphere and in the other direction in the other hemisphere.. I know, I know you thought the earth was flat right?
Seriously I can just here you in the time of Capernicus laughing at his theory that the earth was round....fuckin idiot ..right?

thank God, Al Gore has a private Jet to teach us about how dangerous this is ...

or that misses John Kerry has a fleet of 1970 Chevy broncos .....

Let me get this straight-

The states that are suffering the most damage from climate change, are the states that are in the deepest denial, of climate change existing ?
