Youre confusing law with moral philosophy. Law changes plenty of things that are morally offensive. Like....homosexuality. Until the 70s homosexuality was an official mental disorder and illegal most places. Its been legal for 10 years or so.

Being a vet myself I couldn't watch someone treat my flag like that. I can't even see a flag touch the ground. I believe and it's just that, my beliefs. That if you can't respect your cup tries flag. The country that takes care of you. Then you should be forced out.
