What is the first country you visited

France, although, I don't think I really visited since I never got off the ship. Every ship I was on that was bound for Southampton made a stop at Le Havre first.

Years ago, duty-free booze cruises from Dover to Calais had to ensure that all passengers landed in France to be able to buy duty-free goods legally.

You could buy an afternoon cruise ticket, but you had to walk down the walkway to the Calais quayside, walk around a traffic cone, and climb the walkway again.

No one actually checked that everyone did walk around the traffic cone, but as long as a reasonable number of people did, that met customs requirements.

I was born in the USA.

First foreign country visited...Canada, eh! But only for a few hours. So that doesn't count.

South Korea, stationed there for a year.

Then the UK for a month after the company I worked for merged(bought out) a company there.

Then China for a week to evaluate some software from a company there...funny thing was it was owned by a Chinese-America.

Since then Texas. ;)

The first time I ever left the USA was to go to Spain. Didn't come home for a year. :D

Canada, but I was far too young to remember the first visit. Ended up living there for a year or so.

Since then every South and Central American nation except El Salvador. It was a piece of shit 40 some years ago and nothing's changed.

Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. Vietnam wasn't a 'vacation.'
