When I worked in the private sector, in several different jobs, people without young children were specifically not allowed to take holidays during major public holiday periods for exactly the reasons you describe. That your manager, who ought to have been leading by example, chose to remove herself just when she was most needed confirms my poor opinion of her.

I've become incapable of having the physical without the mental and emotional to go with it. not that i'm not fond of him, because I am, but i'm needing a lot more.

I was thinking how slow it was being - I posted on an LJ Reloaded thread assuming it was the new Blurt title.

But then last time Query and one of his avowed alts, plus Aqua, put together a monumental effort of about 300 posts in less than an hour, or so it seemed. I left with around 200 posts to go, knew I would be gone at least four hours, and found more than 100 still remaining. We are growing old and weary, it would seem.

The person who makes the 5000th post gets to name the new thread : a sop thrown by our High Queen to make up for cutting the superlong threads down to alleviate the server load but, like eunuchs fighting over the pretty garden boy in the Grand Vizier's Palace, the honour is much sought after.
