Midwest US sing out

As usual, the front split about fifty miles west of me, went on either side of town, and missed us completely.

Only storms with significant north/south trajectories ever seem to hit us.

The tail end of that storm line brushed me here an hour so ago. Not much to it.

That big orange and red ball on the radar down around San Antonio looks far scarier.

Hold onto your hat, Slyc.

Did something happen?

Did the Madras fault finally erupt????

Well, the house shook, but I don't think it was an earthquake. Had more to do with the lightning that struck the neighbor's tree.

Glad you made it through.

Slyc? You okay?

As usual, it looks quite bad on the TV news. Why is it, again, that people live in the Midwest?

Thought it was the San Andreas, meself. . .
I'm close to San Andreas (town) and not too far from the lake and its fault (closer to the coast) and nothing shook here. However, a bunch of tornadoes rolled through Sacramento a couple days ago. Good thing they don't come up here into the mountains. We don't allow them. Folks in the midwest should try that. Just adopt the model legislation from the California Association for the Prevention of Earthquakes, with a slight change of wording, yah? Just ban tornadoes. That should work about as well as banning climate change.

We got Rain and wind and T-Storms yesterday just before 5PM, but then it was quiet, then more at night after Beddy-bye. Strong West Wind and sunny but cool today.

Yesterday afternoon I went out with just a T-shirt on (plus trousers and shoes - pervs) and it was really nice. Still feels weird not wearing several layers plus a heavy coat and a hat with flaps to cover my ears.

Yeah, I meant Madrid fault line, not Madras. It was late; sue me. :p

All we've got down here is a little chill and some rain. The only danger so far has been idiot drivers who can't stick to their own lane even when the weather's fair . . . .

Been pouring rain, thunder and lightning ... or is it lightning and thunder ... as the lightning causes the thunder? Oh well, never mind. A lot of water is falling from the sky with all kinds of loud noise to go with it.

I'm only wearing a tee right now. Y'all can just imagine... Anyway, we had snow up here a couple days ago, and tornadoes down around Sacratomato, but the snow has mostly melted here at 4000ft / 1200m. A nice day to sun-lounge, lemon-ginger-tea-sip, idly stimulate genitals, puff more MMJ, and plot my partner's birthday fest tomorrow. It's a surprise party at TASTES. Don't blab.

I forgot to mention in my earlier quote that as I wrote it, the temps were in the mid 40s and the night before it got down to freezing. One thing about the midwest is that the temps and weather change really fast, and super fast in the spring.

Good one! :)

Our newspaper this morning had a picture or two of the devastation.
Sympathy and all that . . .

Don't sweat it. Slyc, I think a tornado just hit my house. I'm hosting a party for 10 screaming teenagers. It's a slumber party. Pray for me.

Perhaps a sleeping pill disguised as a pickax handle is in order? Jeezus, the Princess is a teenager already. My muzzle must be getting grey I'm so old . . .

I am, Molly, I am.

Happy belated birthday, by the way. Sorry; I don't check Facebook that often anymore.

I hear ya, Bear. I've gotten more grey in my beard in just the last few years, and the bald spot's become conspicuously wider . . . .

She's entering her second year of teen-agedom. How's that for scary?

Very. I still have a few years before the start of the terror years at this house. I'm hoping to find a way to slow time so I can put it off as long as possible.

Thanks, Slyc. I think this is the first time in almost 10 years I didn't have a birthday thread.

I tried snowing time, but it didn't work. Give it up.

I've never tried to "snow" time, but I'll give it a shot. :p

And don't feel bad; I haven't had a birthday thread in years. Whaaa.

It didn't bother me much. It was a hell of a bday with lobster, martinis and surprises. I like surprises.
