Walter Scott shooting

Agreed.

From a man that was fleeing from him...he was super scary... that cop's body language says it all... he was not even phased as he slapped the cuffs on the man who he shot TO DEATH....

Please pay attention people.

I said...in the news report I heard, he claimed that he feared for his life and thats why he shot the guy....I never said he had a reason to...possibly because thats how all the other cops get away with it and he didn't know the video existed

Please understand while I get that is what he said, in watching the video ^ that was my opinion...

No, you're terrified when you kill somebody for no reason and have to come up with a reason...fast

When I watched the video, I saw a lack of training. Stressful situations have to be anticipated and practiced if a good decision is going to be made on the spot. Shooting a running man in the back is the worst possible choice in the situation. It looked like most of the shots missed, so there was a danger to the rest of the neighborhood.

He feared for his life

Yeah, I'm terrified when someone runs away from me.

I read that as sarcasm. The cop was definitely trying to stage things to make it look like a justified shooting. Clearly, there was only one person in that video who feared for his life, and that fear was well founded.

You can tell this is a shock to almost everyone, because American Thinker is still trying to working up a response. Apparently, blaming this one on Eric Holder is proving to be difficult.

I think you're allowed to shoot someone who steals your (other) weapon, yes?

In South Carolina, an officer can ... if the suspect is considered a threat to people in the vicinity. If Scott had taken a gun, it could've been a justified shooting if other people had been around. Apparently the cop didn't even see the dude with the camera.

Looks like the black guy got the Taser out of the cop's holster.
(it wound up on the ground)

If the cop thought the black guy had the Taser, the shooting may have been righteous.

The uh-oh moment appears after the shooting, when the cop realizes the Taser isn't with the black guy...goes looking for it and brings it over.

Just a detail....

There was no danger to the cop. He executed a fleeing man by shooting him in the back.

The other problem is a lack of people around, at least from the camera angle. I doubt the cop saw the cam guy based on distance and angle. It could be what he attempts to use as a defense possibly. Most of the law enforcement types around here being interviewed are slamming the cop actions though. The cop is in a position to see Scott's hands as he turns to run, and while he runs. They're empty. Can't be considered an immediate threat.

American police has to be the most stupid and badly trained police force in the world. :(

I think if we have learned anything in the past few years, it is this...if you get in a scuffle with a police officer in the USA, there is a very good chance you will be shot dead and that the police officer will ultimately be exonerated.

True dat.

The Darkies don't learn too good, and affirmative action don't help the dead.

Finally

The LEFT gets a BAD COP to spew venom on

ABOUT TIME:rolleyes:

There was already justice. #MichaelSlager was arrested and charged.

Why are they chanting #NoJusticeNoPeace

This story tests my theory that the media heavily promotes racial cop stories for the long haul only if the facts are ambiguous. I predict it will drop out of the public eye within 1 to 2 weeks. After this initial blast, there will be no daily updates on MSNBC and FOX.
