There was another shooting of a black man by a State Trooper in Columbia a year or so ago. The trooper's dash cam caught it. In this one the trooper got lucky and the man wasn't killed or he would've been facing murder charges too. He was brought up on other charges though.

It's a choice still available for death row inmates here. Most likely he would choose lethal injection. But then, based on recent attempts at that around the country, he may choose the chair as a quicker way to die!

I've watched the video a couple of times, and see the cop run back to the spot where Scott decided to run and pick up something, reported to be his taser, but can't spot where he drops it by the body. I'm curious to see if the other officer sees it, or misses it.

The report also stated that he said the guy tried to grab his taser...that could be it....the video got it though....I don't know how he didn't see he was being video'd though

In fairness, the video also shows the guy grabbing the cop's Taser.
If the cop thought the guy had his Taser, shooting him might have been justified.
