This is true in my age group. I will say though that the proud proclamation "I don't cook" thing seems to be more prevalent among white women. If there is a potluck gathering most women of color will cook their hearts out in pursuit of the win. White women just go pick up something at the market. I know a lot of successful white women in NYC and none of them could go into a well stocked kitchen cold and come out with a meal. Latians, Asians, AfAmericans, NDNs, all can put something together.
