An Appreciation

Wizard fingerpicker. I sat in on a guitar workshop with him a few years back. Awesome. No more of his magic music. Damn.

EDIT: On a different track, does anyone here have a copy of the WHEELS OF FIRE or CREAM COMPLETE songbooks? I'm trying to learn AS YOU SAID and the only scans I've seen online (and I searched thoroughly) are missing the sheet music pages for the end of the first verse and the complete second verse. The chords and harmonic structure are too weird for guitar tablature, and I'm playing it on mandolin. If anyone has the music and can scan that song's score, I'd be eternally grateful. (Grateful that I don't have to spend US$25-$35 for a copy of the whole songbook when I only need the score of one song.) Thanks!

Dang! Sorry to read this news.

I remember listening to him play with Stefan Grossman on an old LP, back in the 70's.

Rest in peace, John Renbourn. :rose:

Brilliant guitarist in a terribly underappreciated genre. RIP.

Listening to a Pentangle album right now, prompted by this post. I'm amazed not to have heard more about at a guitarist who was this good, a definite loss.
