The EPA is looking into regulating back-yard BBQ grill emissions...

It's the lighter fluid that does me in! Also people burning wet wood, there should be a law!

I have a Stok.

It has a charcoal starter and ash catcher in the bottom. You stuff it with newspaper and then set the paper on fire lighting the charcoal above it. A little wet wood really enhances the flavor, I like hickory, but mesquite is good too...

Makes me feel more in touch with my internal primitive hunter.

For now, I have an electric bbq.
I prefer my pollution to be generated by a coal-fired station, far away from.where I live ;)

Burning newspaper releases halogenated hydrocarbons and dioxins.

Do you really want those chemical soaking into your grilled possum?

The paper is burned up long before I put the half-shell possum on the grill.

;)

Don't hate because your mobile-homeowners association outlawed charcoal.

"Where it all ends I can't fathom my friend."

Nose in here, nose in there. Pretty soon you'll all be living boring, hermetically sealed lives................and you're still going to fucking die. And most of you are going to die believing to your core that having a government regulation for every facet of your life was a good thing.

Oh how I long for those days when a group of 12 years old kids could break into a munitions bunker, steal a case of assault grenades, go out in the desert, divvy them up and throw them at each other without having to face charges of 'terrorism.' And so many other dangerous and semi-dangerous adventures we embarked upon. Yeah, we could have been maimed, or even killed, but God dammit WE WERE ALIVE!!!!

Now there's panic in the halls of power over burning charcoal.

Eventually, even the word grenade will be outlawed...

;)

Probably already is. I can see tomorrow's headlines, "Local home owner busted on charges of possession with intent to distribute charcoal. Details at 11."

This is obviously the gravest existential threat to our Republic since it's founding. Fire up the Rand Signal, we need to call in Glibertarian Man!

I had some minor plumbing work done yesterday and the plumber told me the price of hot water heaters will soon rise by up to 50% because of EPA regulations. I Googled it and he's right. The EPA is another useless government agency that produces nothing and siphons money out of the economy and the pockets of Americans.

The EPA is also doing a study to determine how long hotel guests spend in the shower. Of course this won't affect Throbwad. He bathes once a month whether he needs it or not.

I wouldn't mind the higher price if they actually lasted longer, but they don't. Five years +/- is what you can expect these days. The mandate will be on efficiency and you'll be told that the 'energy savings' makes up for the price difference. The problem is the damn things have to last long enough to recover that investment.

There goes Throbwad again, following me around Lit and posting right after me. What an attention seeking slob.

Let's see if he can control himself and not do it again.

Like everything else the government touches it has an unintended consequence. The consumer gets hosed.

You took a shot at me, and now you're shocked...SHOCKED!.. that I replied.

This isn't israel, schmuck, your actions have consequences here.

Now declare "victory".

I pity the folks with electric HW heaters, they're royally screwed. Gas isn't effected but most people that are currently heating with electric won't be able to change to gas.

They can for a price. I just switched from an electric to a gas stove. Like most plumbing and electrical work, estimate what you think it will cost, then double or triple it. :D

What about those homeowners who have charcoal precursors laying about the property.

:D

Wonderful nannycam footage this morning of a water heater blowing up a house.

Terrorism I tell you!
