I'm having problems with uploading an avatar

Good evening everyone, I'm quite new here. I have been having a problem with the avatars both on the main site and on the forums. I would like the attached jpeg as my avatar but I keep on getting an error message on the main site. Also I can't even see where to put it on my profile on the forums. I have read the faq but they haven't really answered my question.

I read on another forum post that you have to write 100 posts in order to get an avatar, is this correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to have one hundred posts in order to have an avatar in the forums...then and only then will the section on avatars in your profile open up.

But don't hold me to 100 posts...it might be 101, 102, 103 before the code sees you have greater than 100.

As for the story side...the avatar will have to go through an approval process, so each time you post one, it goes to the end of the approval queue.

Note: There have been troubles with the Avatar postings on the story side of the site...no explanation has been forthcoming.

Then I must be a very lucky boy because on the umpteenth attempt, I finally managed to change my profile picture on the main Literotica site. Huzzah and a round of ginger ale for everyone! the only problem is I want to tweak it now, damn my fickle mind.

Profile pictures are different from Avatars as they only show up when someone looks at your profile...avatars have to show up in several places at once.

I'm such a rube I never knew there was a difference between a profile picture and an avatar. So essentially what the main site is calls an avatar is in fact a profile picture? because to all intents and purposes it only appears when someone views your profile. Anyway whatever it is, I've managed to submit a drawing I made to replace my ugly mug.

I am really looking forward to being able to put my avatar on this part of the site. I am torn though, what should I have as my avatar; a profile shot of my face or my drawing that represents what I feel?

P.s. the drawing is a black and white representation of a Trojan shield featuring a design of two legs pointed in opposite directions. This represents my love of history, high fantasy and the design is my imagining of my own emblem in a fantasy scenario. This is based on my most prominent feature which are my disfigured legs, due a neurological condition.
