Obama says he's embarrassed for the Republicans who sent that letter to Iran. Mmm hmm

Wonder which has the best reason to be embarrassed? Obama with the republicans or the U.S. with Obama?

Obama is embarrassed by the fact that 47 Republicans decided to adopt the Democrat tactic of undermining the President on foreign policy they themselves have employed seven times in the past.
Wrong. He's embarrassed by the stupidity of some of the members of Congress.

According to former Major Gen. Paul D. Eaton, Senator Cotton, and the other Senators who signed the letter, were mutinous rather than treasonous. His words:

“I do not believe these senators were trying to sell out America. I do believe they defied the chain of command in what could be construed as an illegal act.”

“What Senator Cotton did is a gross breach of discipline, and especially as a veteran of the Army, he should know better,” Eaton told me. “I have no issue with Senator Cotton, or others, voicing their opinion in opposition to any deal to halt Iran’s nuclear progress. Speaking out on these issues is clearly part of his job. But to directly engage a foreign entity, in this way, undermining the strategy and work of our diplomats and our Commander in Chief, strains the very discipline and structure that our foreign relations depend on, to succeed.”

What a fucking liberal, that Major General.

the so called "General" is part of THIS

The National Security Network (NSN) is a non-profit foreign policy organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States, that focuses on international relations, global affairs and national security. Characterizing itself as "progressive," the NSN's mission statement asserts the group aims to "build a strong progressive national security and counter conservative spin." Its founder, Rand Beers, was a Bush Administration counter-terrorism expert and is the former National Security Adviser to the John Kerry presidential campaign, 2004. Beers resigned from NSN in 2009 to serve as Counselor to Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.[1] Among other things, the National Security Network acts as a resource for media outlets, releasing frequent opinion papers on a wide variety of foreign policy issues and engaging in rapid responses to current events. It also hosts the liberal global affairs blog Democracy Arsenal.[2

so in other words....you took a LIB LOON spin doctor to attack a VETERAN:rolleyes:

aside from the FACT, there is no chain of command in CIVILAIN LIFE

not to mention, you deflected from the OP:cool:

Nice to see your high regard for members of the military, a Major General no less. How's that hypocrisy working out for ya?

Further, there's that nasty little item known as the Constitution which allows the President to make treaties, with only some of the treaties being subject to Senate approval. Specifically, those treaties in regards to foreign policy are the sole purview of the President.

Therefore, President Obama has every right to be embarrassed by those Senators who signed the letter since they're the ones who whine the loudest about following the Constitution, yet have gone out of their way to ignore the very thing they ask for.

Yes, it is embarrassing to watch their nonsense and yes, there is a civilian chain of command. Were it otherwise, everyone would do what they wanted whenever they felt like it.
