I'm watching a fly walk across my window looking for a way to escape from my office.
The window is open for about 1/4th of its height, and all the fly need do is fly out the opening, but doesnt. Watching this fly walk around, repeating the same pattern it occurred to me what intelligence is and how it works. In short, intelligence works the same as memory and our immune system. Theyre all of them variations of recognition.
The immune system attacks what it recognizes and ignores the rest.
We recall what we recognize and ignore what we don't recognize. That's what memory is.
Intelligence is the application of what we recognize to problems we recognize. The fly has nothing in his skull that includes his present circumstances, I do, and recognize his salvation. Education, therefore, is the process of exposing people to experience that may trigger innate recognition if the recognition template exists.
