The SO and I did ours yesterday.

The special day that comes every spring for dog owners. The snow is finally melted away. The fleabags winter deposits finally revealed. Get the rake and scooper and pick up dog poop.

At least we section off the yard with a snow fence, and make the dogs use the back by the fence line where we have pea gravel. Pretty easy cleanup.

Still 3' of snow back there, plus, this year for the first one in 35 years, I don't have a dog.

We have this down pat. I drive the wheeler, pulling the trailer behind with buckets at the ready, the kids walk along and scoop and dump. I have finally discovered why I put up with the eyerolling.

We try to do pickups in the winter, but never can keep up 100%.

A few years ago a co-worker was having her first year winter poop initiation with her chocolate lab puppy, and using my suggestion to use a hoe to chip up poopsicles, when a chunk of poop flew up and landed in her mouth.

I guess I should have also mentioned not to chip at poopsicles with your mouth open.

I learned that around here, the snow would melt and we would have one dry week before the rain started.
If you raked it all up in that week you were golden...if not, well...lets just say I really tried to hit that week just right.

I was just looking at this yesterday. I have a good sized pen maybe 15 by 40 with pea gravel and about 50 lbs of poo.

I have a 3/4 acre back yard with several herds of deer that come to the salt lick. Dog poo is the least of the poo.

Plus, I pay someone else to cut the grass and stepping in it isn't my problem.

Oh thats got to be funny to see and hear all that whining and ewwwww's.

lol

This is my first winter in the city, but the yard cleanup will be minimal - I cleaned up as it occurred or very near after. I am sure there will be a few surprises, but that biological function tended to happen during morning and evening walks in the park.

Nope, they are allowed one annoyed sigh and hour otherwise I won't hear any of it. And they know with 2 acres of mowed grass they can get in a few sighs.

I'd let them whine and laugh my ass off as long as they kept the pace up.

Tell them if they don't study and do good in school the world needs poop diggers too and this is great training to get a "leg up" in the brown industry.

:)

Yeah I don't have kids. lol

Not yet, but now that the ground has finally revealed itself, that'll be a project for this weekend.

Round 1 done and in trash for tomorrow. The part in shade is still frozen snow.

Good luck poo warriors!

Oh and check the shoes before coming in the house!!!! A Must!

I blew all the poo out of my shoes with the air compressor schnozzle.

My sons go out once a week and clean up. We have a small yard so it's pretty necessary.
