"It sounded like something metal either being hit or falling over. That's what it sounded like," said Kim Urr, 62, who said she and a friend are used to hearing helicopters and ordnance blasts from the nearby military base, but this sound was different. "There were two booms afterward, similar to what you hear with ordnance booms, but more muffled."

And as I was complaining about the other day with the news of Harrison Ford, there is relatively little news about this. Now had they be rock stars on a helicopter the news would be non stop. But soldiers, sorry, no time for them.

A military aircraft wrecked and killed 11. They will be tight lipped with the info.. Which is what they should do. Rampant speculation doesn't accomplish anything and is very disrespectful to those that died and their families.

Seals(SEa,Air and Land)are an elite U.S.NAVY unit. According to news sources the UH-60B was an ARMY Helo with Marines and Army aboard.About NVGs...there have been several instances of pilots flying while using NVGs losing depth perception and crashing. Happened once here at Ft. Steward about 30 years ago.
