Google to rank articles for accuracy

Just watching Ben Stein on Fox, "there's nobody in America dumber than a left wing college student"

Ben Stein has obviously never met you then, chub scout.

Of course, there IS some legitimate debate as to whether your ignorance is "willful" or "natural". I personally believe you lean towards the former, although lately some of your more pathetic rants give credence to the latter.

I believe that if you watch Fox (News?) you're willfully ignorant.

I guess fox news will never show up in my google searches now? LOL

I've watched Fox News with my grandpa. It isn't that they're factually inaccurate. They just don't generally present facts, so that they don't have to be. They'll do things like run opinion pieces or use that "survey says" rather than "study says" to "prove" things. But you have to remember that they never claim to be factually accurate or a news source. They're listed as "entertainment" not news under their FCC guidelines. I don't think that they deserve a lot of the shit they get. They NEVER claim that they're accurate. They specifically state that they are not held to the same standards as a news program when called out. It isn't their fault that people blindly believe what they see on TV without fact checking.

And when I say that, I admit that they /might/ say that they're accurate or preventing facts within the context of the show, but that's just to keep up the consistency of their own logic, not to prove that they mesh with the real world. They have no reason to be anything other than what they are, and it's aggravating to see them get so much shit just because the people who make up their audience pretend that they can't fact-check things.

the Daily Show is a comedy show, out and out entertainment, but they're more reliable than Fox (News?).

Viewers of The Daily Show were found to better informed than those who got their information from FauxNews in at least one poll on the subject.

How fucked up is it if those viewers who watch your 24 hour news channel are more likely to be misinformed than those who watch a one hour comedy show 5 hours a week?

 You've got to be making all that up!

No, remember there was such a big thing about the trial that Snopes published an article to discredit some of the claims? Such a trial never existed. Fox News NEVER claimed to be an accurate news source, and certainly was never forced to display "Not a credible news source" across the bottom of their screen like some sites claimed. They simply have an entertainment classification. Several editorial shows do. It's not limited to Fox News or even to conservative-leaning sources, nor is it a big deal until the internet got a hold on it and tried to make it a big thing. When you see something you should always get stories that you're interested in from at least three sources. Remember in grade school when you were first learning APA or MLA or whatever your school taught, and you had to have three sources? That should be instilled in you by adulthood and you shouldn't need internet sensationalism to teach it to you. I stand by my statement that it's the /audience/, not the /show/ that is to blame for their gullibility and lack of fact checking. I think that Fox News gets a lot of bullshit for no reason. It isn't their responsibility to babysit their audience. And I think it's a ridiculous thing to ask of any entertainment source. You, as a viewer, should have the common sense to know that old people screaming at each other is not a valid source of information.

Are you saying that FOX news is to news what professional wrestling is to professional sports- lookalike entertainment ?

Let's see how google ranks the latest article about how brave, heroic and mentally stable a six year old trannie is.
