she then leaves the room

She supposedly is 18 and going to college (she skipped ahead a grade or two, or it's very early in her first semester of college?) yet she lives at home and takes the bus to school. Hmmmmm. Is it the character indicating underage or the author not being old enough to have a feel for what a real college student is?

Even otherwise the plotline is a bit contrived, but it would be a popular one, so no reason not to write it up this way. Why does her mother have such pills? Why does she want to be a nympho all day at an age where she has a daughter in college? Could be done (she's a prostitute?), but you need to work on that angle--and also not be so detailed in how the pills got mixed up. A sentence or two does that.

That said, this is just the setup of the story, whether it finds a lot of readers depends on what happens from here.
