I have been using Google Chrome for the last several months, works fine every where except on Lit. and only on Lit.

Often when I hit the back button on my mouse the page I return to has no writing only straight lines where the writing should be. The only way to fix it is to close Lit. shut down Chrome and restart the whole thing. It always comes back up with no problem.

When it started is would happen once or twice a week maybe, but as time has gone buy it is happening more frequently and today it happened several times.

I just down loaded Firefox and an about to delete Chrome and see what happens.

Any thoughts, ideas or ideas would be appreciated.

Weird. I don't have much experience with Chrome, but one thought - is it possible that you've somehow reduced the font size, so those "straight lines" are actually really small lines of text? You should be able to test by trying to copy and paste into a plain-text app like Notepad.

Or you could try to refresh the page in question when it happens. I have been using Chrome since its introduction without problem. Every once in awhile a site will sneak in a script that seems to take over, but a quick uninstall / re-install fixes that.

I have never seen what you describe and it's strange that it only happens with lit.

Question: Is it everywhere in lit or just on the story side?

Have you tried using the back button on the page instead of using the one on you mouse? Or the backspace button on your keyboard?

Have you tried updating Chrome? The current version is ... Version 40.0.2214.115 m

I've always used Chrome, and never had a problem. I will say that when I first got a touch screen laptop, I was doing something that caused the type size to change drastically at odd intervals.

When my ASUS touchscreen suddenly lost it's touchscreen capability I haven't minded at all.

I find Firefox to be just the tool for Browsing.
I tried Google Chrome and it worked, but I have this thing about Google playing with my PC setup or revealing what I do, to whoever.

In Chrome, hitting CTRL + enlarges the text size, CTRL - reduces the text size.

This also happens in Firefox.
It's very handy with some of Trysails graphs and things.

Actually I usually see it on the boards where I spend the most time. I do not ever remember it in the story side.

I have not tried that very often usually the mouse back button is right under my thumb...so thumb click is on automatic. I will try to remember to use the back button. Thank you for the idea.

As I said yesterday I down loaded Firefox which I had used for many years in the past. I discovered I hated it, I deleted it and just reloaded Chrome and now do have the latest version. I am such a non geek, my wife had to help me. (G) So far today I have not experienced the problem. I suppose time will tell.

As a side note when I tried to down load Firefox Chrome tried to block it and when I tried to down load Chrome today Firefox blocked it.

As a side note when I tried to down load Firefox Chrome tried to block it and when I tried to down load Chrome today Firefox blocked it.

Funny, I have both FireFox and Chrome and neither has ever tried to block the other. Could you have a virus of some kind?

There are two versions of Chrome, regular and developer. You don't want developer, there have been and still are problems with that version.

There is also a 64bit version...I haven't downloaded that version yet. I have several plugins that I use that aren't compatible with it yet.

Maybe he meant that when you install one, it tries to make itself the default browser if another is already installed.

That could be, all browser ask that question when you install them.

I've been using Firefox as my exclusive browser for several years now. I find it to be more stable than the other browsers (I.E. & Chrome), less of a memory hog than IE, and the fact that it's open source means you have many creative and technically savvy people constantly working to improve and enhance it. Turnaround times for new releases are much quicker than IE, due to it's open source contributions.

And last but not least, I look very favorably upon the Mozilla Foundation (the open-source based organization that created and maintains Firefox) because I believe they truly believe in an open and free Internet, and they spearheaded the recent successful campaign to maintain Net Neutrality.

You might want to try Pale Moon. It's a 64bit version of FireFox, but independent of the Mozilla project. It's free and pretty quick. Of Course you have to have a 64bit Operating System.

Next time it happens please check the URL bar to see if the address is "normal"

And now a few guesses at an explanation (IMO #1 is most likely)

#1) Cache error: do you use a proxy? Does it happen if you click the back button immediately after you have submitted a reply?

#2) Browser redraw bug: probably a coding error. Does it happen if you click the back button while the next page is still loading (ie. back button immediately after clicking a link)?

#3) It's a glitch (a bug) in the scripting from one of your plugins/browser-addons (maybe the anti-phishing function installed by your anti-virus program). I doubt it, but if it is then try testing with your addons Disabled then re-enabled.

#4) Literotica scripting error for your browser (I doubt it)


re-installing your browser or changing browser will work as long as it's not problem number #1

I hope that here is a good place to mention a problem with Windows 7 at a very recent update.
It's the auto reboot.
You'll need to put the machine into Safe Mode
