No reason not to either, as the article reports:
"The cable is located in a desert area north of Phoenix, meaning it is not a site routinely accessed by passersby.
“It’s a desert area, so it’s very remote, extremely remote,”
An area likely accessed by illegal border crossers.

Vandalism in Arizona Shut Down Internet, Cellphone, Telephone Service Across State
Incident raises concerns a domestic or international terrorist could tamper with U.S. infrastructure

Cellphone, Internet, and telephone services across half of Arizona went dark on Wednesday after vandals sliced a sensitive fiber optic cable, according to those familiar with the situation. The incident is raising concerns about the safety of U.S. infrastructure.
The outage shut down critical services across large parts of the state, preventing individuals from using their phones, bank and ATM cards, and the Internet. Critical services, such as police and state government databases, as well as banks and hospitals, also were affected as a result of the vandalism.
The services first went dead around noon MST on Wednesday, causing complete service interruptions across half the state, from Phoenix to such northern cities as Sedona, Prescott, and Cotton Wood, according to an official from CenturyLink, the Louisiana-based communications company that owns the severed line.

AUSTIN - The deployment of additional state police and Texas National Guard troops to the southern border last June has reduced illegal border crossings but cost more than $100 million and compromised the Department of Public Safety's ability to combat crimes elsewhere, according to an internal DPS assessment prepared for Gov. Greg Abbott and lawmakers.

For instance, I was into my third tour running patrols ambushing the VC and the North Vietnamese Army before RobDownSouth crapped his first diaper, yet he sets himself up as an authority on what went on in Vietnam, the Marine Corps, all the while belittling the sacrifice of Americans who served there on the basis of what he heard, read, or imagined. A very poor substitute for actual eye witness experience.
Not so. Maybe that might be true in the beginning of first tour of a lowly Private. You allow your own anti-military bias to cloud your understanding of reality. Marines I served with were well informed about their tactical purpose, mission, and how they fit into the general overall strategy. They were not sitting next to LBJ making war policy, but were in prime position to judge it's effectiveness, and we did. Our commanders regularly visited our fighting positions in the field to inspect and educate Marines in the field as to why they were doing what they were doing, and what was expected of them.
The best and most informative books on Vietnam were written by lower ranked Marines, namely Phil Caputo, James Webb, Charles Anderson. Some of the best books on the Pacific War in WWII were written by lower ranked enlisted Marines like William Manchester, E.B. Sledge, and Robert Lecki. All people who were actually there, people who were drenched in the blood, bone, shit and fear of real warfare.
Based upon what? LOL
I've don'e quite a bit of hiking and camping around northern AZ and run into far more white folks out in the middle of no-fuckin-where AZ than ebola ISIS mexicans.Originally Posted by vetteman View Post
