A old female friend just told me that my skin look dull. I don't know if it's from the drugs, the sun, smoking or the stress, but fuck it I want my edge back. I looked in the mirror and my skin do look dry and dark, well my face anyways. How to get my skin back? And I'm not doing no gay shit like sleeping with a cream mask or putting cucumbers on my eyes. My father use some shit called Topiclear. But once he gets locked up and don't be able to use it he comes home black as shit. I don't want anything that will make me darker and I don't want to do gay shit like wearing a mask. So what are my options?

Eat healthy, whole foods. Drink plenty of water. Get lots of sleep. Don't use drugs or excessive alcohol. Exercise daily.

Works great for me.

I feel like half a fag asking that question. But fuck it I want my edge back. My hands and face are two different complexion. And I want my hand complexion.

Too right, my mans. I hate it when I get all ashy. Especially my feet and elbows....

In all seriousness, hydrate. Never less than two quarts of plain water a day. Above and beyond whatever else you drink. More if you drink alcohol or if you consume anything with caffeine. I have no idea about the drugs, but they are chemical and they need to leave your body and the only way that happens is sweat and through your kidneys.

So yall basically are saying all I need is water and sweat?

If you have sugar you can make a paste and scrub your face for a quick refresh. Other than that, eating healthier and exercise like everyone else suggested makes a difference in the long run.

Well that, and a consult from the skin guy from "Queer Eye, for the Straight Guy."

I never had to use any products when I had hair. My skin heals well, I tan if I want. I have found though that better products can make a difference. I use good quality blades on my head, and I follow up with Nivea after-shave balm. It makes a big difference in my skin.

I don't know what would be appropriate for your skin and within your ethnicity, what sub-type you may be. You said dry I think so you probably just need some sort of face conditioning lotion. Walk your bad-ass into some place that sells cosmetics and tell them what you told us. I'm pretty sure they will not question your sexual orientation.

OH. Wait! CLick here---------->

Go over to the How To, and ask Satin Desire (the Makeup Fairy*) she will definitely know.

Water is ke though. Your skin tells how healthy you are. When was the last time you ate a green vegetable, young man?

*She is The Makeup Fairy, that is not "makeup FOR fairies."

Shower?

You don't need to drink 8 cups of water a day.

You do need an adequate diet and enough sleep. A moisturizer might also help.

Like vegetables and salad? I can't, they are nasty. How about fruit?

Fruits are okay, but finding some vegetables you like would be better.

If you can only eat brussel sprouts sauteed in garlic butter and served with bacon bits, that's fine. I microwave bags of spinach and then pour rice vinegar over them.

I use coconut oil (topically) and water (orally) to keep my skin hydrated. I like coconut oil because it really sinks into my skin and makes it feel baby soft.

Get some good face scrub that will exfoliate that ashy right off, then put some moisturizer on.

What made me think it was more than just diet or water was because you like your hands, just not your face skin.

Stop smoking!

I'm scared of products from seeing my father all these years. When he comes home he looks like he is part raccoon. He be black as shit for the first couple of weeks until his lotion take it's affect. I don't want to end up like that.

What are whole foods?

Foods that are in their (generally) natural state and haven't been processed. Raw fruits and vegetables, fresh cooked meat. Real food. Not shit out of a box, a can, or (generally) the freezer aisle. Some frozen veggies maintain most of their nutrients through the freezing process.
