The "missing" Lois Lerner/IRS email coverup has been opened as a criminal investigation by the Inspector Generals office. Bet you those sleazy bastards start talking now.

Sounds like wishful thinking.

Not a chance of prosecution.

All the usual suspects here will continue blathering about how no law was broken when I took the time to look up the relevant US code statutes and quoted them, showed case law, everything. The will continue to insist that it is the sole discretion of which ever punk bureaucrat that has a document in their hand to retain or delete it as if Oliver North and Faun Hall shredding documents was not a crime, As if Nixon erasing tapes was not a crime.

It is never worth the time to engage the delusional apologists for the administration. The will contort any reading of any situation and the law and precedence to defend them from the smallest, to the most grand.

yes, because what we think here on this chatboard for a website where people post stroke stories is what really matters.

A few years ago, my hard drive crashed and everything on it was lost. I kept the drive when I trashed the computer. This hard drive has pussy pics and really hot pm's from some of the sweetest Lit ladies. I just couldn't toss it in the dumpster. It seems so disrespectful.

After they recover all those lost emails, I'll ask them to try and recover my lost files.

You are missing the point here. The emails WERE NOT DESTROYED as was testified before congress. They exist and are in the hands of the investigative committees now. The crime is the conspiracy to withhold subpenaed material. And there is a shit pot full of case law on that.

The copies on her laptop were deliberately erased. This was done AFTER she was aware that they would be the subject of an inquiry. From some snippet I read, it looks like she erased, probably formatted, then physically damaged the actual hard-drive; like with something intruding.

That was crime one.

Crime two was the conspiracy you mention where in order to get through another election cycle they pretended that back-up copies do not exist. The worst of it and where investigators will make headway was not the server back-up "oops we cannot find anything on our servers" stall. The worst of it was when about 7 laptops that all would have had received copies and our sent to Lerner emails all "crashed."

That cannot be 7 idiots who just did so because they believed like the apologists here state that they are the arbiters of what an official record is and just wanted to help their friend. This is guilty knowledge. They knew there was criminal activity in those emails and at some point someone held a meeting and told the idiots how to destroy their drives.

Someone will talk. Maybe.

Gotta love the fact the Deputy IG who is insisting on opening a "criminal" investigation of IRS data retention policies has testified that Democrats may not view the newly discovered emails, only Republicans.

No witch hunt here, nossir.

Yeah, because it is common practice for an investigator to be sure and share with the target of the investigation what they have so far so that the target can tailor their story to fit parts that are known, and know which evidence to hide or destroy to fit the new narrative.

link says no such thing

and if it is true, GOOD

Next up, Benghazi!!

A couple of days late on that. That FOIA lawsuit (that should never have been required and should ever yield BETTER results than a CONGRESSIONAL subpoena) already pried loose some emails there proving that no one was talking about a video, and they were aware within hours that it was not only a planned terrorist attack, but that an al quaida group had taken responsibility.

Probably best, though that you cling to the narrative supplied to you during an election campaign. All truth is found in campaign ads. Never question those in power. They would never lie to you.

as usual...you made that up

So they found tapes IRS testified were destroyed, and back up tapes that IRS said didn’t exist. Hopefully, someone is going to jail here, and they find the smoking gun email.

The very best part was the email that Lois Lerner sent to her colleague, David Fish...

Lerner: "if my records are destroyed and David's records are destroyed at the same time, wouldn't that look suspicious? (from 2011)

"if my records are destroyed and David's records are destroyed at the same time, wouldn't that look suspicious?"

Not to the 19% Obama apologists that will rationalize ANY behavior the administration does.

They aren't even embarrassed to be such sycophants. They pride themselves in their coprophilic consumption of the lies their government tells them. As long as their guy is in office, anything that advances "their" side regardless of the onerous precedence it sets is acceptable.

Not even the most die-hard, Rush listening Bush apologist was ever half as supportive on their best day.

You are surprised that this stuff has to be read on sites that are not co-opted administration press-release dissemination?

That is like Cowslinger wondering why he couldn't find any left wing sites "up in arms" of the proposed ammo ban.

Here is the analog for Salon (that by the way makes no mention that the emails have been recovered.)

its really hard to believe that seeming SANE "people" can say shit like this

Straight out of Kraft's Rules. If you cannot refute the story, question the source.

The National Enquier is not always wrong. The New York Times is not always (or even frequently) right.

Bear in mind, people that believe a lot of things (that are objectively not so) do so ,because they trust the sources- that they trust. As frequently as they are misled, they have to notice that many other sources are telling them something different. Each time that happens instead of comparing and contrasting and looking at the preponderance of evidence, they use that as further confirmation that only their source is telling them the truth.

You see this on the right as well. but less often. I see those on the right saying, 'look at this crap on Salon...this is what I read on that site, this is specifically what is wrong with that. On the left I hear, "Breightbart?!??, stopped reading right there!!!" with pride as if it is not possible that they could have any information that is valid.

All of the "Don't Trust Authority!!!" hippies are now in power. So they are allowed to lie, and when caught, it was for the greater good.

Why isn't the left FURIOUS that they were lied to with malice aforethought to get the ACA passed? Even if they LOVE the results, even if none of the things lied about affects them, or they willing to accept those shortcomings for the greater good why are the not livid that their "brand" is one of lying to get the sale?
