So I have decided that smiles go a long ways.. Today on the way home, my son drove and we were about 10 minutes from home and we saw a cop up ahead who had someone pulled over (the normal person slows down at this point but not my son) well as we approached the car it had pulled over and pulled out in front of us (plenty of room) but as we got next to the cop, it tried to pull out too. Got right behind us and immediately lit up and pulled us over.
He comes to do the window and asks for license and registration, and then asks if my son knows why he got pulled over. He says "Um cause I almost hit you?" ( i had a silent case of giggles thinking "Oh god, don't say that!!) The cop says "You did?" He says "well I thought I might have been too close" and he says "Oh, well nope, I pulled you over for going 59 in a 45" (Oh shit that's a big ass ticket) So I sigh. I leaned forward and said "I'm sorry Officer, he was taking me home from a medical procedure" and smiled. ( I don't have eyelashes worth batting) he looked at my arm and saw my medical bracelet thing and says "oh, ok, I'm sorry" and then said he'd be right back and went to run his info
He comes back to the car and asks my son how many times he'd been pulled over for speeding and my son nervously stammers "None. I mean one now although my Mom got me pulled over before" So he looks down and into the car and I smiled again and said "oopsie, I forgot to change the tabs"
He smiled and said "ok, I'll let you off with a warning this time, but please watch your speed next time"
