Everyone’s favorite Companion (no, not the “Doctor Who” kind) is returning to the big screen. Morena Baccarin has been cast as the female lead in Fox’s live-action “Deadpool” movie.
According to THR, Baccarin was on the shortlist to play Ryan Reynolds’ unnamed love interest. Apparently, her character “grapples with falling for a man with a hideously scarred face.”

That’s a…specific choice of words. Baccarin’s character won’t be grappling with Deadpool’s multiple personalities, his cavalier attitude towards death and dismemberment, or his depression. She’ll be sad that his face is messed up.

...I once "shacked up with someone", the gorgeously lovely SK, during our 3 months of summer classes before our last year of college together; we'd spend a couple of nights at her sorority apartment in the Quad, and then alternate in The Original PDT Faceman's room for others.

The next spring, I left Torrance, California, at midnight alone, driving a new F350, towing an open trailer with a brand new, just finished Indy car aboard. I stopped minimally only for food and gas and to relieve myself, and arrived just short of 25 hours 1800 miles away...

...just so I could spend time with her before I had to show up where I was supposed to be first thing Thursday morning.

That summer, she gave me an ultimatum: she couldn't wait anymore, and if I wouldn't marry her she'd find someone who would; she was serious...

...I never saw her again.

Sad because if she could've chilled a bit longer and had let things naturally play out, we could've had such cute little babies...

...but, other than the lovely SK during our very own summer of love though, I have never shacked up with anyone else.

As I matured, fvcking became just like the thought of shacking up to me: I found it almost completely unfulfilling doing it with someone I didn't love...

And then, one midsummer night awhile ago, I was awakened from restless slumber in my bed and driven to the floor on my knees by the fateful realization that none of that - nor anything else I had already known or knew that life could offer - meant anything to me at all...

...on my knees lost, I asked for two simple things: the truth, and to know what a true relationship was.

And what do I get for that sincere repentance and submission?

Back when I was an impressionable kid and thought rasslin' was real, I had a close encounter of the worst kind with Dick the Bruiser. I was at my Mom's office one day for some reason and Dick the Bruiser and Crusher Stan Stasiak walked in. Dick the Bruiser was smokin a giant cigar, just like he did on TV. I was absolutely sure he was there to bust the place up, because that's what Bruiser and Crusher did, y'know? He also had a fistful of money, so I figured he'd just robbed someone.

(He was actually there to pay his rent, he and Stasiak rented a short-term furnished apartment in Atlanta when they were in the territory.)
