There's like 3 feet of snow. No one is going anywhere. There's more snow than there is BiteSize. I put a bunch of clothes on her and threw her into it and now EVERYONE is pissed at me. I thought she would like it! I loved snow when I was little and she loves being tossed into soft things. Also the snow is taller than the dog and he got lost in it. We've been up for like half an hour and it's already been a great day.

I guess we're just gonna build a fire and stay in and be cozy as shit.

Ahem....

:)

I looked at the commercial stuff last night. With the first listed ingredient as high fructose corn syrup, I passed. I'll check out a farmer's market soon.

I'm on a mega diet so I won't be eating it anyway, it just seems a shame not to make some with all the beautiful citrus right now. I have boxes of half-pint canning jars I was planning to use to give it away, if you'd like to try some.

It really is the easiest thing in the world to make your own - with all the pectin the the fruit, you just need the fruit, water, a little lemon juice, and ordinary sugar - not even jam sugar. A jam thermometer is a nice bonus, but you can even avoid this - when you think it's ready, tip a little onto a chilled saucer. If it wrinkles after 30 seconds or so, it's ready. Pour into sterilized jars. It's ready to eat as soon as it cools, but because of the sugar will last for months if you want. Decent recipe here, but there are hundreds.

I'm looking forward to making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. I love traditions.

I don't think there is a single thread in my past that I'd like to bump.

Nope.

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to insist that the Earth's axis return to a more moderate inclination.

I almost never remember my dreams. Why is it that when I do, they are bad dreams? :(

look at you, rubbing your superior foodiness in everyone's faces.

I will not be making pancakes. my pancakes suck :(

Pancakes, marmalade, toilet births, and the Earth's tilt. I love this thread.

Half a foot of snow here. I'm going to have to walk to my parents' house and borrow a snow shovel. Light and fluffy, though.
