If you screen test the male actors there, and they come through, as it were, you probably have winners on your hands.

I'm thinking if I'm at the South Pole, given the temps here right now, I'll probably have pretty fucking thick mittens on my hands.

Pledge ONE act of sexual philanthropy in this place, (for the good of the board, no less), and never live it down.

What are your salary expectations is maybe the most horrible question in a long list of horrible questions

That is awful - I've never seen that before. Isn't the salary, or at least the expected range, made clear in the job spec?

If it's a known company, you can go to glassdoor.com and get an idea what they pay, then answer the question with a mid-range for the company

Recruiters know this too, if you happen to know one, but the website is more expedient.

You're so cute with British expectations. Here, they want you to put something low so they can get away with ripping you off.

Neither is BG. BG needs to go to the store but not in -15 degree weather

It's as if America isn't run in the interests of hard working ordinary people, but those of the corporations! Did I miss a memo?

If you put something too low you might get passed over someone that they perceive to be in a higher tier.

But most places offer free coffee.
That's quite the trade for cradle to grave care.
No, just several decades of corporate and government cronyism.
As dolf posted the other day, in Britain we have 3,250 government employees cracking down on £1.2 billion of benefit fraud (for which, if found guilty, the accused will go to prison) and only 300 chasing £70 billion of tax evasion. Of the 7,000 names on the HSBC list found to have evaded tax by a total of billions, 1 - ONE - was prosecuted. And yet we criticise Greece.

Priorities, Jennifer. We're certainly no better than you are.

Yep but if you put something too high you might price yourself out of the running

You just cannot bloody well win
