Same here. I really want a shure fatboy but cant justify the price. Sometimes I see a vintage one go on ebay for under 100 bucks but they're normally untested and I dont know how to repair mics.

Shure has a very reasonable repair pricing structure. Plus they make things to military spec, so it's damn durable.
