In 2012, Speaker of the House John Boehner argued that Harry Reid’s threat to reform the filibuster was, “clearly designed to marginalize Senate Republicans and their constituents while greasing the skids for controversial, partisan measures. Any bill that reaches a Republican-led House based on Senate Democrats’ heavy-handed power play would be dead on arrival.”

And now the GOP outcry is to abolish the filibuster. WTF

Meanwhile, the Democrats are ready to let DHS go unfunded.

I thought "job one" was repealing Obamacare?

I thought that the overwhelming Red Wave last November in the Senate was the indictment of all of Obama's policies. When is the senate taking up one of those repeal bills?

The dopes in the House GOP just had yet another vote so the freshmen Republicans could send out the press release that they voted for repeal just like they were "sent there to do". What bullshit.

The GOP controlled Congress has now passed the Keystone Pipeline Bill.http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...to-keystone-xl-pipeline-bill-setting-up-veto/

Yes, and it will be vetoed, and they don't have enough votes to override. So huge waste of time just like the 50+ attempts by the House to repeal the ACA.

This is probably true. The obstructionist in the White House will probably veto the will of the people's representatives, and will do so again in Obamacare.

Congress is no more "the people's representatives" than the President is. That is an essential element of the separation-of-powers system -- each branch has a mandate independent of the other's.

And the POTUS is, of course, under no constitutional or other obligation to change his policies in response to midterm results. Did W, in 2007?

President Obama IS doing the "will of the people", seeing as a majority of the American voters opted to return him to the White House in 2012.

He is not a rubber stamp for Congress, and if Congress lacks the votes to override a presidential veto (which they do lack), then it is the responsibility of CONGRESS to find an alternative acceptable to both the legislative branch and the executive branch.

Basic checks and balances...American Government 101. You never attended college, didja?

It is true that a majority of the voters are alleged to have voted to return him to office but, in Nov. last year, an even bigger majority voted for people who promised to try to undo some of the damage he has done and is continuing to do. As part of those checks and balances, the H of R can defund everything he tries to get away with now.

Of course, two years from now, unless Obama has made himself Dictator for Life or some such thing, the Congress and newly elected president will be able to conduct a total cleanup of his messes.

Alleged?

You're officially a fucking joke. Not that there was much doubt. Congrats.

I said "alleged" because I don't know how many fraudulent votes were cast.

President Obama won the popular vote in 2012 by a margin of five million votes.

If you believe that there were somehow more than 5 million fraudulent votes cast, you are truly nuttier than a squirrel turd.

Obama won because Romney couldn't get Rush Limbaugh and the republican senators to stop alienating the female vote.

Rush calling college girls on Birth control sluts, statements about legitimate rape and rape babies being gifts from god, the fact they make it obvious they cannot wait to turn over R v W....they are against abortion, but also against birth control...

Some day they might realize there are millions of women voters and that are not all barefoot and pregnant like they think they should be.

That is a huge reason Obama is still in, the sheer idiocy and loathsomeness of the Republican party.

I thought Romney was a decent candidate, better than Obama in many ways, but his 'supporters' shot him in the foot and the Repugs will continue to do that.

Romney shot himself in the foot with that 47% comment and trying to appeal to Republicans who were going to vote for him no matter what. If he'd been smart he would have spent his entire campaign running to the left of Obama which isn't actually difficult.

thank you... I was looking around to see if I could the most batshit crazy thing said by the rwcj this week... and you won the contest straight out of the gate

Amen to that

75% of single female voters voted for Obama... and the GOP still doesnt get that demonizing women will continue to bite them in the ass

Check the 2014 election results and lets talk again. Hardly anyone believes Obama got his ass kicked, especially the GOP, but he did.

What was President Obama running for in 2014? I must have missed that on the ballot.

Ahh so you are on of those conspiracy nuts that think martial law will be declared. Your last Republican President issued more executive orders and took more vacation. Who was the dictator?
Oh, and allegedly won the vote??? He didn't need a lopsided Supreme Court to decide the election for him.

Busted: Obamacare Co-Ops Are Underwater And Sinking Fast

Getting rid of the Department of Homeland Security (Orwellian speak at its best) would be a fantastic first step which should be followed by getting rid of the TSA.

It was only because a Republican President ignored six months of daily warnings of an impending attack which led to the worst terrorist attack in this nation's history that these additions to the size of government (so much for smaller government Republicans) and the idea that all U.S. citizens are by default, criminals.

The billions of dollars wasted on these two agencies alone would do wonders to helping pay down some of the debt and/or used for something useful such as repairing our infrastructure (water, sewer, highways).
