Tom Brady is giving Malcolm Butler the Chevy truck he won as part of the MVP package. Without Butler's interception in the last seconds of the game (and a piss poor call by the Seattle offensive staff) Brady would have gone home empty handed.

As an undrafted rookie, Butler is being paid the NFL equivalent of minimum wage. And that really isn't all that much for abusing your body the way those guys do. So Brady giving him the truck is a fitting, and probably a much appreciated, gesture on Brady's part.

I just googled what the minimum wage in 2014 for NFL players and it was $420,000. Pretty good if you ask me. I do think it is great that Brady recognized Butler the way he did.

As for Brady, he said he "would love to give" the truck to Butler and he is "going to try and see if he can make that happen".

Doesn't sound like the gift is a done deal to me.

Maybe they need to check the tire pressure first.

They asked Butler yesterday about "being out of position".

He said they recognized the play that Seattle ran from watching film.

Practicing against the scout team earlier this week, he got his ass burned on that exact play and the head coach ripped him a new one for not recognizing the play instantly.

Butler said after being publicly chewed out by both the linebacker coach and the head coach there was no way on God's green earth he was going to be out of position again.

Bottom line: it was a high-risk, high-reward big time professional play. You're either the hero or the goat. He gambled and won.

I don't see a push putting him into position. He ran to a spot and collided with the receiver just as the ball arrived. Pretty much a bang-bang play.

That video shows the exact opposite of what you're saying... the writer says the exact opposite too...as well as the comments below the story.

There is nothing in that video that shows him being touched till he hit the Seahawks receiver. He read the play and went right in and made it.
