Peanut Butter Toast

Is the peanut butter all melty?

God how I miss peanut butter.

I had peanut butter on sour dough english muffins. (must be chunky peanut butter)

Don't get the buttering something before you peanut butter it, but I know some people do it.

I am out of practice. I over-filled the slices. Oozing and escaping out of the sides.

Poirot just had to mention hot chocolate!

My favorite breakfast for the longest time was peanut butter on toast with tea until I was 27 and had to stop eating toast :(
Then I switched to two eggs every morning until a year ago when I had to stop eating eggs.
Then I went to quinoa with dried cherries until the price of quinoa doubled.
Now I am eating oatmeal which I soak overnight with a bit of lemon juice , then drain and cook with preserves mixed it. Sometimes I top it with toasted almonds and a bit of cream.

pb on sourdough English muffins--yum.

also yum on muffins or toast is apple butter, or boysenberry jam.

milk, please--"full fat." :)

"Omigod, did she say cream"?

Peanuts are your kryptonite?

I don't know why, but somehow a peanut allergy just seams a little weak-sauce. (no offense.)

Given your background with plants do you have any idea why it is that so many people seem to have peanut allergies?

I never heard of such a thing when I was a kid. You either liked peanuts or you didn't. My brother the doctor, when he was a kid, had weird allergies. Watermelon I think gave him hives, and once some cheap tropical-oil fried potato chips made his eyes roll back, his throat close up, and he dropped like a stone. Not unusual, but a bee sting puts him into anaphylactic shock.

Are modern peanuts different? Do plain, dry roasted peanuts cause you to react, or is it processed peanuts?

peanut allergies are really quite common....you honestly hadn't heard?

and *spanks!* for the "weak-sauce" comment. (even though I lol'd )

I know they are very common now. I mean, why was no one allergic to them in 1970?

right? idk, maybe it's like the sudden "increase" in kids diagnosed with autism. the numbers aren't really different, we're just more aware of it now than before...?

just a guess, i'd have to ask my friends. i'm blessed that even my son doesn't have issues with allergies.

If you ever swing by Minneapolis I will give you some Hell's Kitchen peanut butter. It's heaven in a jar.

I don't understand food allergies either... most of them I think are pure BS. But I did know a person who swelled up like a beach call after eating shrimp. It was both scary and funny.

I can (and have) eat anything so I look at people who say, "I'm allergic to that" askance.
