sooo pissed me off when we had a set (not as valuable but the same covers etc...,) we sent up to head office, knowing the were worth at least £400 - at least! they put them on e-bay, for bids, beginning at £0 and to sell to the highest bidder within a week. idiots! they sold for £60 and were put back on almost immediately for bids from £500. i know it was the same set because of some minor damage listed in the description. fuming

I have a first printing of the second edition, the one with the grey covers rather than the white. I also have a first of the one volume paperback, which apparently is going for about 300 quid.

Some where on ebay.uk (tobacco pipes ) there is someone selling Hobbit like pipes for about 25 pounds .Sorry I cannot be more specific as I saw it about 2 years ago .
