I never look for this song but when it shows up in a playlist I always appreciate it more than I think I should.

I am sort of out of the closet though. I was looking for an interesting black-T to wear under my black pearlsnap when I wear it open, or think I might need to ditch it for the heat.

I found one with some gold design silk-screened onto it. Took me a bit of head tilt to realize it is Slash. Originally, I just looked at it unfocused for the color pallet.

It's a good bit of rock & roll from back inna day.

Another band that I scoffed at at the time for catching the tail end of spandex and big hair is Bon Jovi. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRvCvsRp5ho

That was always a good turn to hear after about my 19th night shift in the middle of nowhere. I'd be rotating a truck in the mud, singing along, '"I'm a cow-boy...on a ste-el horse I ride...." It was all very macho.

I had a roommate who used blast out the dorm with Appetite for Destruction. Everybody knew who he was, but it did not make him popular.

All things in moderation.

I was a very young man when I bought a house near the University. A lot of the houses had been converted to student rental hovels, but I owned mine and took pride in its upkeep and appearance.

I made the mistake of renting a couple of rooms to my best friend and his band-mate. Practice for their 80's cover band was held in my family room. I tried to deaden the sound a bit but it failed. The base would pump through the walls. I would have them to turn it down some, but the levels would creep up as each member felt his track needed to be heard more.

A very nice couple had owned the house across the side street since 1964. I was embarrassed when he politely knocked on the door and said, "I am sure that is a nice stereo, but could you turn it down. I explained it was live, and I would cut them off before it got too late each night. He was pretty good about it.

People are generally nicer if they realize its a band rehearsing, and if they finish at a reasonable time.

Axl Rose and the band members of Nirvana clashed backstage at an MTV music awards show in the 90s.

At the beginning of this video they pulled a Jim Morrison/ Jello Biafra. MTV asked them not to play "Rape Me", they play the intro and Krist can be seen flying his middle finger, then saluting when they stop. At the end, Dave can be heard screaming out something taunting Axl, then they trash the stage equipment.

What a great thread. Thanks for the bump, Rob.

Seems pretty late, your time. Something eating you, chum?
