Yeah, I have a habit of doing that at the beginning of a lot of stuff.
Actually, I've only ever heard "RePUBlican" pronounced "REpublican" in the 1968 Disney film The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. It's set in 1888, maybe that pronunciation was commonplace then -- but the family are almost all Democrats (the Grampa is even a Confederate veteran) and seem to be using it as swear word, and no Republican pronounces it that way -- and, yes, the party politics are deeply plot-relevant. Maybe "REpublican" is the 1888 equivalent of "Democrat Party".
But "INsurance" -- Og have mercy!
