An exhausted soccer player was clearly depleted of carbohydrates after a narrow defeat in a match. He was offered a wonderful gesture in the shape of a long yellow sugar enriched fruit to help his deflated predicament by a young, clearly concerned fan. Though this act of kindness seems to have landed this youth with a forthcoming court case that could mean up to 2 years imprisonment. The banana was apparently very good quality and not poisoned in any way. Am I missing something?..

There has to have been a formal complaint to the Police. It probably wasn't from the player but from the home football club.

You don't give a link or details but I would be surprised if that fan hadn't been warned or even prosecuted previously for racist behaviour. A first offence would usually get no more than a warning.

Well I think it's unacceptable intellectually to confuse a black man with a monkey. There, for me, are fundamental differences:

1/ A black man wears clothes. That for me is a big giveaway.

2/ Monkey's can't really talk. Those chimps on the PG tips adverts were in my opinion dubbed.

3/ I don't think a monkey could reach the pedals of a BMW. Unless it was a gorilla. But I think gorilla's are too big.

So there you have it. I think you lot who get confused are being very silly..

Yes, particularly with football in some Eastern European countries. It is still a problem at some matches in the UK but the football authorities, and footballers and the fans' organisations are trying their best to stop it.
